It's a close call between this guy and Junior Lewis for the most ineffective player I've ever seen at the top level for us.  There are other contenders, but this bloke has been beyond abysmal.

But but he got 6 goals for Fulham last season and he got a standing ovation when returning to them. Tbh we are lucky to have him as loads of clubs wanted him in the summer apparently.

yet he gets picked! By two managers!

beggared belief that Cooper picked him ahead of Mavididi at the opening game. I was aghast (an adjective I've never typed before but is 100% accurate)

Then for the Dutchman to reintroduce him.

There's this mystique about elite level professional football and the complexities within.  But that theory is seriously under review via the logic defying decisions by Cooper, Ben Dawson and the Dutchman this season..

Could a punter take a training session beyond a five a side and running between cones? No chance..Could same punter from the stands pick the strongest xi and 'set us up' - absolutely

Are you aware that referring to RVN as 'The Dutchman' is essentially a derogatory dog whistle?

What a dreadful dreadful player he is.

Nine touches. Six easy 5 yard balls to a colleague. One 5 yard straight pass to them. One hoof up the pitch. Defensive header wasn't too bad.

Plus. Two 'runs' one caught under his feet the other pulled his hamstring..

40k, thank you very much.

Edit; no tackles, just before one of the Dutchman's cucks pipes up about him being there for defensive solidity

He’s on more than 40K a week and was given a large signing on fee, too.

I'm going for (first half)

4 touches -  2 scuffs, / 2 routine sideways passes (1 of which goes to opposition)

9 occasions he gets back into position to help full back and gets ghosted past all 9 times..

You just missed the two runs that made a promising move look like a sports day dad race when a great-grandad has to step up because the dad’s at work.

Cooper was sh*te on and off the pitch and people forget just how much of a say he had in the awful summer window.

That is not his fault. He would have took what was on offer.

Not saying it was his fault.

It was Cooper wanting players like him and Rudkin signing off on it.

The first few pages of this thread are a good read. You’ve got people pointing out it’s not the best of transfers then you’ve got the usual suspects defending every signing and making out like it was a good deal.

Anyone with a tiny bit of knowledge about football could see that the Jordan Ayew & Bobby De-Cordova Reid transfers were terrible bits of business.

BDCR running with the ball is one of the most excruciating sights in football.

Just unbelievable that of all the hundreds of free transfers available, we somehow managed to sign him

He has not been a good signing and we certainly have not had value for money. Not quite as bad as Bertrand but not far off.

In terms of ability, they are about the same. They've both 'gone' to such an extent, they are no longer of professional standard. But at least Bertrand had the decency to be permanently injured and not play..
