If you think football is as simple as that, then you’re sorely mistaken……

As a club appointing Cooper meant we abandoned everything we worked on last season, leading to a change in style….. so when Ruud comes in, the style changes yet again….. he has to be able to build a foundation to work from, what is your expectation? Play 4-4-2, bollock the ball up to two big strikers and hope for the best? Because hoping for the best is more or less what Cooper tried, and failed to do.

With no method and no system you can’t even begin to improve, Ruud is trying to address the defensive issues by implementing a proper method and ideology.

Playing two strikers isn’t going to change our defensive problems, how we play as a unit will.

I never said we should play a 4-4-2. There are diamond variations with low block that can solve some of our issues defensively. Even with 2 strikers one of them can drop back and collaborate with Buonanotte. This worked several times before, our historical results the past few years under 4-3-1-2 are impressive and I'm not even saying going for this now. I'm on a 4-1-2-1-2 and you make it as wide or narrow as you want.

This is ****ing outstanding.

Exquisite playing out and break down play!

Also, Tielemans, great player. When he wants it.

Bellend that’s what he is.

I think this is more or less what he is trying to do. Bilal and Buonanotte support the attacker whilst a McAteer for example plays wider so Buonanotte can tuck inside.

But I agree with you, this leaves us exposed in the midfield. I’d like to see him give a back three a try, take a hit of the pressure off the midfield two, use the wingbacks as wide attacking players, and then Bilal and Buonanotte supporting the striker…. I agree Ruud needs to learn quickly, but if we can keep our heads above water until January we stand half a chance!

Awful defending there though.  That pass to McGinn should have been where it ended, it was short and nobody closed it down, just let him get onto it and everyone stood off.

Appreciate it on an attacking level of course, just bizarre how woeful Man City are at the back now.

Personally find it really refreshing seeing Pep struggle. Hes only really ever worked with clubs with money like Barca and Bayern. Id like to see him at a club that doesnt have millions to spend every year and see how he gets on. Hes still a great manager but needs to prove he can do it at a less well off club.

They must know they are getting a massive points deduction

I'd say it's even worse than this. Players there must have very strict NDAs and the situation is very bad. As with everything, we'll know after the verdict and probably there will be a documentary also.

This is great watching, however, our season could likely be done in three games if things go wrong tomorrow……….thats a horrible feeling.

Look at the bright side. Man City has lost just 2 games less than us. Bonkers.

Really hoping Cunha isn't available against us. Nothing to do with our chances, I have him in my FPL starting XI and Rogers is my first sub....

Same here!

Sadly for FPL purposes he will play.
