This seems like denial to me. They’re quality and on a fraction of the teams around them.

?

Forest won’t finish in the top 4. no way.

GK? Leicester

Defence? Can’t really separate.

Midfield? Again neither side stands out

Attack and wide areas? Wolves.

you are probably right with the above, but Cunha is a top 5 prem player and strand Larsen is a good attacking player. Would actually say Wolves have better defence than ours as well. Air Nouri is a good player and gets loads of assists

Don't get me wrong, finishing in the top 5 or even top 7 would be a fantastic acheivement for them for their budget compared to those around them and they are a quality team this season, I'm just saying its not comparable to us in 2016.

Wolves have now scored 7 goals from an XG of less than 2.5.

They won’t stay this lucky all season.

Do you really think xG has an impact on actual results? If so my field on the moon is still available on sale and I'm reducing the price at £2M just for you.

Surprised you believe the moon exists tbh. it's pretty clear that if you spend ages scoring goals without really creating the chances to do so, they'll dry up, because having your own goal of the month contest isn't sustainable

The teams around them are too good for them to finish there imo.

We all know, because it seems to happen every year, that Manchester City can pull a killer run out of nowhere, Newcastle have the minerals and have already spanked Forest this season and Villa have that dog in them. Quietly, Bournemouth and Fulham are also having excellent seasons.

There's not a chance Forest finish above Arsenal and Chelsea over 38 games and the title is gone.

They'll finish somewhere between 6th and 8th.

I did think this but now think they have a chance. It's likely top 5 gets champions league football this season too.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are shoe-ins in my view which leaves 2 spots. Man City have been awful but could get their act together.

The usual chasing pack are, quite frankly, shite this season however. Spurs, Man Utd and Villa are far too inconsistent which leaves Newcastle who have found a bit of form after their inconsistent month or two.

I said about a week ago that the top five will be Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Newcastle in that order.

They’re massively benefiting from the sheer lack of quality in the league this season. Theres only one excellent team, in Liverpool, then a cluster of average teams, and then the bottom 8 who are below average.

Forest are a well organised team and are well coached, they’ve got some solid players and are consistent in their performances. If you can do that when joined else can strike any consistency you’ll do alright!

Gk - fine. When Mads is fit.

Def - I don’t agree. I think they were lost under O’Neil. It happens. However, player for player, they beat Justin, Veste and Coady - 3 players who don’t get into another PL team.
Mid - I like our midfielders, winks, Soumare, Bilal and Facundo - our most competitive area but the rest is shit which just means they play pretty for parts of games.

Attack - Cunha wins it for them,

I know people are positive after today but that was a Luton performance from last year, great effort, a few chances but ultimately, put in place.

Wolves picked up a point.

Palace won.

Relegation becoming quite a real possibility

When the Danny Ward thread went hot again, it basically confirmed relegation. You won't find a clearer sign than that.

Who are our relegations rivals? Can only see the obvious two + Everton and Man U? No chance wolves/palace will go down.

Everton have drew three against top teams but they just aren’t scoring many goals.

Everton have only scored in 2 of their last 9 games.

Good for them though that a number of them have been 0-0 (4).

Only scoring 2 in last 9 games is mental really. Think it is between us and them.

more I think about it it’s between us and us only though I can’t see how we stay up bar a huge Jan window. We will see

Their issue is that all it takes is a wobble and the teams waiting to take that fourth Champions League place (Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have three sewn up) will be queuing up. It is absolutely brutal at the top end and wobbles are published very harshly, as we discovered twice under Rodgers with a far, far superior team to that which Forest has now.

Wolves will come back into it, they’ve been gifted the points over the last few games and will hopefully lose Cunha and that will hurt them.

I hope you are right, any idea how long cunha could be banned for?

They remind me very much of us in 22-23. These few fixtures remind me of when we won four out of six in October and November and looked as though we'd battled our way out of it. Then we lost four on the spin, got a couple of good results after that and then went on a run of 1 point from 9 games which pretty much finished us off.

If Wolves lose Cunha through injury or suspension, they are more ****ed than Caligula's favourite watermelon.

You still have to be good enough to accept those gifts when they come along. They did. We had the gift of an out of form, below par Man City at our place today and we flubbed it.

In 2...

They've scored 5 goals in those 2.  4 against Wolves, 1 against Man City.  So they at least made them count.

Agree with your top 5.  Also agree it’s impossible for us to come above the top 4 you mention.  We’re just enjoying seeing a more competitive side than we’ve had for ages, and we’d be delighted if we could finish in the top half.

Hopefully we can get another couple of wins quickly to make relegation very unlikely, then let’s see where we get to.
