Messi is quite simply the most naturally gifted person to ever play the game. Salah is some levels below that but still exceptionally brilliant. Both world class but Messi is the best by a distance

Arteta should be under real pressure at Arsenal imo. How many years has he been at it now and Slot comes straight in and does what he's been unable to. For as good as he's apparently done there it isn't reflected by the trophy haul

They've spent a lot and still aren't any closer. This year was their ideal chance and they've failed being unable to score

Not sure this Liverpool team are average. 

 

They're just very efficient and adaptive to different game situations.

Peak Messi was barely human. He was absolutely monstrous. Unstoppable. A freak of nature.

100 goals in a calendar year at the very highest level of the game is ridiculous. 

 

Not only is nobody currently playing the game anywhere near that level, there has never been a player anywhere near that level so consistently. Maradona and Pele come closest, but neither did it at the same level for so long. And Cristiano Ronaldo simply isn't the same either.

I don't understand why they've never really addressed the striker issue, they've played at it for years under him and it's been a huge factor why they haven't got over the line imo.

And by the time they do they'll probably have lost Saliba,Odegaard etc and will fail to replace them for years and the cycle continues 

 

They don't seem to have the serious ambition to win the big trophies

Salah v Messi ... not much of a debate.  So how about Slot v Pep.

 

Obviously there is no comparing their CVs.   But these two head to head matches have proved for me that Slot is the better coach.  Liverpool's setups have been entirely effective at both ends of the pitch.  Man City have had few answers.

 

Slot took over a very good side and immediately made it a dominant one.  Pep has dominated with sides that would win big without him.
