Worth noting that other than probably Murillo (who is a genuine Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal level defender), I really don't know who they've got that the elite would dump 70-80m+ on.

Look through their starting 11 from last night for instance. Other than Murillo.

Sels - 33 years old. Not worth anything.

Aina - Out of contract in a couple of months. Not worth anything.

Milenkovic - I could see a side like Villa or Newcastle wanting him for £30-40m but Forest will dig their heels in for more and he'll just stay. Ala Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison etc.

Williams - He's shite and has 1 year remaining. Worth nowt.

Yates - He's crap. Only good for wrapping 6 studs on his opponent's knee. Worth nowt.

Anderson - I do think he will be the one they might sell for decent dough in a couple of years time but he's cost them £40m so he's not really turning them much of a profit.

Elanga - Having a good season but I think everyone (probably rightly) thinks it's a bit of a purple patch. Even in this great season he's having he's still only scored 6 goals. Nobody is paying silly money for him.

Gibbs-White - I could see someone going daft for him but who is it going to be? Chelsea have Palmer, United have Fernandes, Man City have Foden, Arsenal have Odegaard etc. There's no demand for a number 10 that will cost £50m plus and that's not even mentioning they spent £40m on him as well.

Hudson-Odoi - I like him but he's not Champions League material. Nobody is paying daft money for him.

Wood - He's 33. I could see someone like Chelsea or Man United seeing him as a 4th striker option for £10m but that's stretching it IMO.

I can just see themselves trying to line up future sales like we did to keep everything afloat and then one summer nobody will come for their players and shit will hit the fan.

It looks considerably more 'built on sand' than we did. In 2021, we had Maddison, Tielemans, Schmeichel, Soyuncu and Barnes who would have had decent resale value if we had been well-run. Even on a good day, Forest's side is worth a fraction of that lot.

And they won't want to sell anyone who's worth anything because they're back to a relegation battle without them unless they reinvest well. Because, let's be clear about this, if Murillo, Milenkovic or Gibbs-White is out long-term, they're struggling.

Also worth pointing out that our valuable 21-24 year olds (Chilwell, Tielemans, Maddison, Ndidi, Soyuncu, Fofana etc) were built around a team that had the likes of Vardy, Schmeichel, Evans, Albrighton, Morgan and Fuchs. All of whom have won the Premier League.

'

I think Wood is the only player they have that has played over 102/130 times in the Premier League.

Williams, Elanga, CHO & Gibbs White have all played over 100 games in the prem.

Anderson and Aina would hit 100 games next season.

Europa Conference to Champions League is pennies to the pound.

Their 23/24 wage bill was £250.2m which is absurd and completely unsustainable.

Considering their lack of squad depth, it really is unsustainable. They could be in a bit of trouble if they don't make CL.

Called it that Forest would stumble as soon as they started facing sides who would actually attempt to be quite compact against them. It's a big shame they still have the gimme of playing Leicester, but losing last night has meant that alone may not be enough.

Big opportunity for the players to salvage a bit of pride from an awful season. Forest will be nervous & getting a result there is possible- cue a Faes brain fart & Soumare not tracking a runner into the box, 2-0 down after 15 minutes. Potential for it to be one of the worst days out following Leicester ever.

Why?

Aside from their delusion that they're a bigger and better club than they are.

Hope so.

Leeds 2003 style collapse, please.

Indeed. That's probably the only one which comes close to our 2023 relegation in terms of a collapse.

Six clubs in the Champions League next season....

I honestly think it should be capped at five, regardless of circumstances. Top four and UEL/UCL winners (if they haven't finished top four) is fine. I'd argue that a team who has won a European trophy has more right to compete in a higher European competition than a side who've finished four places and twenty odd points behind the champions while not winning a sausage.

cos their players are being criticised by fans of a woefully run club with players who arent fit to tie the boots of some of those forest players.

just comes across as bitter and butthurt.

Yep. Title winner, UCL winner, UEL winner, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th should be the priority order. Capped at 5.

Are you 12? 😂

We know better than anyone how quickly things can change and how easily a seemingly well-run club with a decent team can look like a clown show.

They're a midtable standard side who are now falling away at the last. That's it.

The mad thing is that it could have been 7.

Top five. Spurs or Manchester United winning the UEL. Villa finishing 6th but winning the UCL.

Totally agree with your running order.

I think we make the mistake of thinking these players are Leicester City. In reality it doesn't hurt them to see Forest pushing for a champions league place. It'll just be another game where they roll over and have their belly's tickled. It'll be us that have to suffer

This is what I hate most about our team. This fixture should be a massive banana skin for them but we really are that hopeless. It's a gimme victory for them.

They only introduced this rule because Liverpool kicked off in 2005 when they won it but finished 5th behind Everton

I do think that the UCL winners should have the opportunity to defend their title, wherever they finish in their domestic league.

Come on!?

If we get anything from this game it won't be down to "pride"

Most of our players have zero interest left in us, and they all definitely lack the backbone to drag themselves up for a local derby.

Imagine using 'butthurt' as an adjective in England in the Year of of our Lord Two Thousand and Twenty-five.
