Can’t understand why he doesn’t have an experienced assistant and other first team coaches. He needs support and if his decision, it’s naive. If it’s Top’s It’s another stupid decision decision by the moron

Been thinking this and not sure why more hasn’t been made of it? Would be surprised if there has been any other managerial appointment where no assistants/coaches have joined at the same time. It’s like they’ve just plonked RVN in to the same morbid set up and atmosphere left by Cooper. Still needs a total overhaul.

I know many will disagree but I hope we give Ruud at the very least this season and all of the next. I know football doesn't work like that anymore but I do think he has the personality to raise the super low standards at the club.

I half agree in that if he can stick around here and really make some changes then I will support him even in spite of bad results. It's what the main sell for me was on Maresca - he clearly saw right through them and he wanted to change things.

Yesterday was a disgrace though. He's going to lose me quite quickly if he plays Ward. What's the point in all of it when you start every game 2 down.

Iversen is a better keeper than Ward if both Hermansen and Stolarcyzk are out long-term.

Stick with him until January and then bring in a quality GK for as long as needed.

If he starts Ward next game, his sanity has to be questioned. Iverson if the other two are injured. An under 21 if Iverson is out. Ward should’nt be in this squad.

I'm unsure how much backing he even gets in January - we didn't enter this season in a good financial state, we did end up spending quite a lot anyway (plenty wasted as usual) and we'll invariably fail to shift what we need to to free up the squad spaces and the money.

Given he fell out with the board at PSV my expectation is he loses is pretty quickly with Rudkin.

I just cannot believe it's late 2024 and we're still doing this. This whole "Iversen in, he can't be any worse" is such a farcically stupid situation I cannot believe it's resurfaced again. How can this happen?

Iversen isn't great but he is still substantially better than Ward. If he starts against Wolves I'll be at least a little relieved.

I think we're screwed regardless though - we've allowed an embarrassingly high number of shots and we've only let in 38 in 16 (which is still nearly 2.5 a game) because our goalkeeper has been as good as any in the division. I don't think it's an exaggeration when I say that with Ward as a regular for us we could reach 80, possibly even 90 conceded this season.

If Hermansen is out for any length of time, I'd dip into the loan market for someone abroad like Forest did with Navas. That absolutely saved their season while we inexplicably persisted with Ward.

I still can’t believe that we didn’t seek a keeper that January too.

Weren't there noises about us being in for Navas before he pitched up there? I still say that we'd have stayed up and they'd have gone back to their rightful place.

I think it was Dubravka we were interested in

Rightly or wrongly I take it all the people surprised about people suggesting Ruud out so early are being sarcastic?

Bearing in mind they're probably the same people who wanted Cooper out before a competitive game was played.

Tbf. Cooper wouldn't have dropped benonotte from a midfield that contained hamza, skipp and mavilazy.

Exactly the signing we should've made in that season. It was pretty obvious from that window they were going to pass us. Forest get a lot of stick but they've really gone out and got it. They don't hold onto dross for years. Just ruthlessly keep trying to improve their team. Depressed to say I'm quite envious.

It hasn't been strategy so much as throwing enough shit until it sticks. If we'd known that we'd get away with it as lightly as Everton and Forest did, I'd have liked to have seen us tell PSR to **** off and actually have a proper transfer window.

That said, I do think that when it goes south for Forest, it will go hard and fast.

One loss with the midfield we had and things are blown out of proportion. Hopefully Wilf and Bouba will be back for Wolves and we upgrade on Mcateer.

It's what we've become, isn't it?

We'll have crap weekends like this one, where there wasn't one positive result for us. We'll have good weekends like last week where it's the opposite. A 4-0 defeat at Newcastle with a threadbare squad and a competition winner in goal for half of it hasn't relegated us any more than a 3-1 win against a struggling West Ham side guaranteed our safety.

For me it’s more to do with the opposition creating so many chances against us every game. Even in the West Ham game they had the best chances and should have won the game really.

Yeah it will be like this with the squad we have and when two or three are out we will really feel it like we did at the weekend. I don't think Ruud is going to be any sort of saviour as with the squad we have, we are in a real fight to stay in this league!!

That is a concern but the option of sitting back and absorbing more pressure takes something away from our attack. We did it under Cooper more deep and that didn't work. Fundamentally we need to sign a few players if we can in January to improve the squad to give us a real chance to stay up!!

I just hope he's been promised funds in January, the transfer window coming probably is the foxes most important transfer window we have had in a while. If we don't recruit well or none at all we are down. 3 or 4 players are needed asap, I hope Ruud is not let down by Rudkin this window by mucking about in the window over targeting certain players.
