It seems like when a new manager comes in there is often a forgotten or fringe player that gets into the new manager’s team. Or a player that he manages ti vastly improve.

Who do you think will be Ruud’s most improved?

will he get Daka scoring? 🤣

will he improve Thomas’s confidence?

will hamza be his enforcer?

who do you think and why?

Hard to answer with only a fuzzy view of his preferred formation and tactics.

He's supposed to favor a transition game?  We'll see if that brings Vestergaard back in from the cold.

Mine relies on a few variables, IF Ruud plays a defensive midfielder, I think it will be Soumare, and think he will improve massively with a proper role, if it's Ndidi playing in that role, it will be him. Sangare was a very important role in his PSV system, I think Soumare is the closest we have to that.

We need a new DM who can cover the defence and who is comfortable on the ball. Neither Soumare nor Ndidi can offer both (not Skipp either).

I fear you are probably right, but always willing to give players a chance under new management, we will likely have to go 6+ weeks (half way into January) before we would likely sign a new DM so my gut instinct is Soumare will play there.

Connor Coady, I think, we need a leader at the back and as long as we play to players strengths, he has a fresh opportunity to try and actually getting into the starting line up for a run of games starting today.

You’re right, it will be different and some will benefit and come to the fore. The cliche of a fresh start or “new eyes” seeing something crapper, sorry Cooper, couldn’t.

If we’re lacking leaders then Coady may be required, if we lack creativity then why continue to leave creative players on the bench, particularly with Fatawu missing.

No Coady please. Defenders are supposed to be able to defend first and foremost, not sure leadership means anything when we concede every time the opponent attacks with Coady on the pitch.
