I'm not on Facebook but to those of you who are, and engaging/debating with the KPFC lot there, have you asked them if there is point where even they would finally acknowledge this can't go on? If so, what would that actual moment/realisation be.

You just get the usual "short memories", "best owners in football", "be careful what you wish for" slop.

Which tbf is what it was like on here before the first relegation and for a decent amount of time afterwards as well.

Most need to take on board that the era of KP should be regarded as 2 separate eras in effect as two totally separate owners ... during Vichai's ownership the club was overseen by a wordly wise, understanding father, family and business man .... Top is not yet his father and has to prove himself ... he has led a very privileged life ... reality is very different .... especially for  Leicester city supporters

I heard rumours that points deduction could be worse than the 6 we were expecting. Not sure if there is anything more than pure speculation. But if true could pretty much put us in the bottom 3 or very nearly.

Even with 6 points deduction I would still back the likes of Charlton/ Norwich to even finish above us as they both have better managers than us, we would be relegated in 22nd place and that would be an absolute travesty.

You haven't reached 'be careful what you wish for' yet. That's after administration when all the bottom feeders come out. All they have to do is pass what seems to be a pointless fit and healthy check. If Top does it his way he could still take back control. It happened to us. Otherwise you get a saviour or someone out to make a few quid that hasn't got the financial muscle needed.

What I don't understand is those still walking into it like it's a normal journey. It's the short term future of your club that’s at stake. Our journey started in 2001. We're only just recovering now. It was fun in a different way but you soon get fed up of getting a map out because the only thing you know about Accrington Stanley is something to do with milk. Then they do the double over you 🙄

For me, the statue should be in the memorial garden. Front and centre of it, but still there. It comes down again to KP being bigger than the club which shouldn’t be the case.

I also agree the part of the owners, even Vichai, is overplayed. I think you see a correlation between those who make 2016 all about Vichai and KP being the same people who criticise Pearson and laugh at his name being mentioned alongside the title win, even though he wasn’t there any more. I reckon it is just many people not really having a strong understanding. They just think the owner is the one who gets credit and don’t really understand things like scouting and sports science and the role they played in that success and who set them up. Clearly none of it was set up strategically at club level (like Bloom at Brighton and Benham at Brentford) and was linked to that particular management team and you can see how it all slowly came apart from the minute they had all left after the title win.

Bang on with your stuff on Pearson and Vichai’s legacy is certainly confused with the team that he built and the money it generated for the club post title win. Drinkwater, Kante, Mahrez sales and a bit of champions league money, meant we could be sustained for a short while as we made mistake after mistake in recruitment and club building. But all that matters is that those who don’t have an understanding got free food and drink- which most likely didn’t come out of whichever owner’s pocket anyway.

Working Class Brits thinking that a Thai Aristocratic family have any kind of “emotional connection” with them is completely mind blowing in all honesty

I can appreciate that they’ve done good things here but I’d never consider them to be one of “us” or have a bond with them

Really? Feels a bit random xenphobic.

Nah, get where you’re coming from but I think it’s wide of the mark on this.

Many people within the fanbase are still very much in denial about how bad things will get. We still have an enormous wage bill by championship standards, very little value in the squad and the prospect of a points deduction. The argument of "I've seen it worse, these younger fans don't know how good they've got it" is likely to have a very short shelf life.

It's also a load of absolute bollocks. You have to be probably what, in your mid twenties? To have seen us at our literal lowest ever point.

Lots of my formative years watching us we're in the bottom third of the Championship getting beaten 1-0 by Preston and Burnley every year.

And I'm telling people this is going to be a lot worse.

Was it only 1 Boxing Day we lost 1-0 at home to Rotherham as in my head, it was every year for that whole drag of seasons lol

I do wonder how many of those lecturing on the bad times were in attendance during our only experience in the FA Cup first and second rounds. I was. And I’m sure they all were in those huge 7586 and 77912 crowds in the first round (Stevenage) and second round (Dagenham).

Whilst they accuse it of being people who are not happy only starting to follow in 2016, I think it’s the other way. I reckon a lot of them claim to have supported for 50 to try and add weight to their defence of the club but only started coming when we got good but as a result, worship KP and Aiyawatt to the point we see now. We definitely got a lot of bangers on from the attendances in the 00’s to around the time we were promoted initially.

Totally !
Without Pearson and co it wouldn’t have happened !

I am not even sure this new Technical Director, CEO or Commercial Director will ever be appointed, in the last month we have deferred payment of early December payroll for Christmas  and then the debacle with the stewards food voucher…suggests we have immediate cash flow challenges so do we really have the budget to bring in 3 big hitters.

IMO the hiring of the interim MD another KP yes person will be the only change. The current structure will remain in place and Top & Rudkin will continue to run the club into the ground completely unopposed or unchallenged.

Totally agree we are in big trouble

Or the fact that the board's willingness to hand over responsibility for many key areas to the manager (due to a weak or inexperienced DoF and lack of technical director) made them lucky with Pearson, but was a terrible situation with everyone since.

The lack of continuity and board-led strategy when it comes to sports science, medicine, scouting and transfers is arguably a massive factor in our tailspin to this position.

We're only really interested in our own Club, but I thought I'd do a quick bit of research ... looking at other comparable (non-rich/provincial) clubs post WW2, and seeing how they did after winning the League.

Portsmouth.  Won the League in 1949 and 1950.  Relegated 9 years later (1959) and to the 3rd Division 2 years after that (1961).

Wolverhampton Wanderers.  Won the League in 1954, 1958 and 1959.  Relegated 6 years later (1965).

Burnley.  Won the League in 1960.  Relegated 11 years later (1971).

Ipswich Town.  Won the League in 1962.  Relegated 2 years later (1964).

Leeds Utd.  Won the League in 1969 and 1974.  Relegated 8 years later (1982).   (Won the League again in 1992, before relegated in 2004 and to the 3rd Division in 2007).

Derby County.  Won the League in 1972 and 1975.  Relegated 5 years later (1980) and to the 3rd Division 4 years after that (1984).

Nottingham Forest.  Won the League in 1978.  Relegated 15 years later (1993).

Blackburn Rovers.  Won the League in 1995.  Relegated 4 years later (1999).

Apart from Forest, who with Clough in charge until 1993, managed 15 years before going down ... every other provincial club has messed it up on average after between 6 and 7 years.   And 3 of those clubs had won the league twice in quick succession!

The only conclusion I could make, is that it's only the rich (so-called "big") clubs that can ride out their mistakes.     Every other provincial club, even League Champions, become sh*t after a few years.     It would've been nice if we could've bucked the trend ................................

I think they just said all that to stop Rudkin chants, which has worked

This regime have previous for leading managers up the garden path in relation to transfer funds etc so wouldn’t be shocked if that has now extended to telling porkies to the fanbase to deflect pressure away from themselves.
