He's looking for long term tenure

Ruud van Nistelrooy hints at Leicester City 'dream' as Thomas Frank sets example
Only two managers in the top four divisions of English football have been in their posts longer than Thomas Frank has with Brentford, Friday's visitors to the King Power Stadium

Thomas Frank is living the “dream” at Brentford with Ruud van Nistelrooy hinting he would like a similarly long tenure at Leicester City.

Frank, the visiting boss to the King Power Stadium on Friday, has been in charge of the Bees for more than six years and is the third-longest-serving manager in England’s top four divisions.

That kind of longevity with a side is what van Nistelrooy aspires to. So far in his senior managerial career, he spent less than a year at PSV Eindhoven before walking out over a lack of support from the board, had four games as interim Manchester United boss, and is now nearing the three-month mark in charge of City.

“That’s the dream for a manager to be able to think in those long terms,” he said ahead of Brentford’s visit.

“It’s an example where somebody starts a job with a clear idea from him within the club, and then building and setting those standards and recruiting.

“I believe he’s done an excellent job, together with the people at Brentford. In that sense, it’s an example.”

While van Nistelrooy has a contract to 2027 at City and has ruled out walking away over the club’s lack of transfer business, managing the club beyond this season may be dependent on their Premier League survival.

So far, the Dutchman has taken just seven points from 12 games in charge, leaving City two points adrift of safety.

“Very clinically, when you look at points, I expected more results, more points,” van Nistelrooy said, assessing his first dozen league matches.

“If we look at development and doing everything possible with what we have, there is development and that’s the glass half full.

“I believe what’s remaining is there to attack and to make sure that we’re getting those points that I felt we missed.

“I look at games that we should have taken points, and we didn’t, so we’re looking to do that over the next three months.”

I might be an ostrich as well but I’m not judging him based on this years results due to the mess he has been given, but I will judge him with a full summer behind him, more coaching staff and hopefully a good season next year in the championship.

I don’t hate the idea of him being our manager next season

How on earth can we be defending these performances.

He's worse than Cooper but because he was a good player all is forgiven and he's been dealt a bad hand.

Such terrible double standards.

It isn't personal but objectively he's a bad manager, no where near Premier league level. Needs sacking asap or we are going down.

Its the same every week.

You are of course entitled to your opinion, just as I am entitled to respectfully disagree with it.

The club have pissed me off once again.

For almost every home over the last couple of seasons I have bought my youngest son a ticket. He is the only one in the family without a season ticket.

We normally do it so that my ticket is swapped to his name so he sits with the rest of the family and I sit elsewhere in the Family Stand, as near as possible. It's been done every match this season without issue.

I have just called now after he decided he wants to go today and the jobsworth woman is refusing to do it and saying I need to cancel my usual seat and move so that the two of us are sitting together. The main reason he wants to go is that he can sit with his cousins.

I explained this has been done regularly over the last few years and has never been an issue before, even having spoken to Jim in the past. She refused to budge and said this is not right and it wouldn't have been done before and she won't be doing it.

F*** them, they've just lost a sale.

Is anything planned for tomorrow then?

If you're going to do this you should all just plan to do the same route and start for every match with the hope that the numbers increase as the matches go by.

Will not need to be planned just remind everybody each match.

Hate to break it to you, but they don’t care mate and neither does the women that works there. As long as she is finished by 5, all is good

Oh I'm well aware. And as a result I'm really struggling to care also.

We might all not go tonight now. Leave more empty seats. ****ing sick of the whole club. Just so difficult to deal with on every level.

In the exact same boat. Endlessly tried to move seats so more people could attend with me to bring them income, but they aren’t interested.

Whats a lost ticket sale to a club paying £65k a week to Edouard. Not even touching the sides…

Just to say Jim has just called me and sorted it so fair play to him for that and my son is happy he's now going.

Means I have to go now though 😬

Glad it got sorted.

Jim was amazing helping me get things organised after my dad had a stroke and needed a wheelchair to get to games.

People like him are worth their weight in gold to the club.

Ridiculous that he always needs to mop up

Tell you old man, your lads, do not show up for the next game. This is beyond dreadful. They are wasting our time every single f-king week!! Enough is enough. We gotta show them something. Sack the board, sack RVN.

Didn’t go tonight cause I literally couldn’t be bothered. I’ve made the executive decision that I’m not going again this season.

If there’s anymore protests arranged then I’ll turn up for that then watch it in a pub after if I can or go home instead.

How there is anyone still in the stadium is beggars belief.

There isn't enough scorn in existence to give the hierarchy at this club the amount they deserve. I'm not sure there's a single employee left at the club that deserves to be here.

Scenes of people leaving after 3rd goal went in were stronger than the protest so far.

I applaud the efforts but those empty seats being visible for the majority of the game spoke volumes.

Wish RVN would start briefing against the club to Neville/Keane.

It wasn't a protest though.  We don't do that.
