I’m desperate to see what he would be like in a side that actually has a sustained spell of possession. I’ve watched nearly every minute of his loan and Cardiff really struggle to string a few passes together

Im still massively encouraged by what I’ve seen from him since January. Should he be a starter next season? No probably not straight away but he’ll be a great option.

I’ve always rated him highly so i admit I’ll be biased at times haha.

Let's be honest if Hamza does a job on him he ain't never going to be a world beater

Thomas marked Salah out a game once, so his not a world beater?

Mavididi/Alves and Fatawu/???? - on both wings next season. Highly doubt Monga stays with all the hype/talk, but would like Poku as an option, but I guess that depends on Ayew and DCR moving on

Very harsh to be subbed off at half time.  Strange loan to a club that struggles in possession and is in a Championship relegation fight. Getting hooked at half time again isn’t great for his development, he would’ve been better off here rotating a LW role with Stephy and gaining more experience in a less physical league.

It’s a lie that the Championship is more physical. We were one of the best sides out of possession in the league last season then we jump up to the Premier League and we’re way off the pace and power of most teams in the league.

No sure he's going to start over Mavididi just yet, who is a good championship winger.

But he's ability to play both sides should see him get plenty of minutes.

There were a couple of times where he broke forwards and had no support at all. He will be playing in a better (hopefully) side next season.

He is also 19 and has been subjected to very little first team football.

100%. We’ll be playing potentially 50+ games next season. Last championship campaign we had nobody to challenge Mavididis spot in the side, Alves will be a great option off the bench & for rotation.

Early impressions are that he hasn't got the extra pace to be a forward player. Balance looks good. But not convinced.

Or Barnes when he came back from West Brom. Again, next level stuff.

Barnes was 21 when he was at West Brom, and already had 40 leagues games under his belt.

As first senior loan moves go this is Dane Bowers type stuff. Will learn more about the level and more importantly what he can do in a much better system for next season..

About as much kudos as I’m willing to give this club at the moment.

Going to be a big pre-season for the lad.

Hamza is a really decent championship player.

I've always liked him. He is what he is. Gets far too much flack for what he isn't. Like Skipp, not his fault an imbecilic DoF chooses to pay him a lottery win every week.

He’s a fantastic ball winner as this level really, looks rapid too haha.

From a tackling perspective you get away with way more in The Championship. That’s the physicality I’m talking about. Not pace. BTW, we are way off the pace in the Premier League in part because our squad AND manager are both significantly weaker than the one that got promoted.

Luke Thomas had a good day or Salah a bad one??? You decide.  Luke couldn't even get a game in the championship at the blades.  Do me a favour

Genuinely hope you are right.  But let's be honest some of the guys on here suggesting he should have played in the premier league this season are wearing blue tinted roses at least.  The premier league would have totally broken the young lad.

He wasnt ready and this loan is what he needs. You need the bad games as well as the good. Still a lot of hope for him.

Would he have been any worse than Ayew or Reid? I'm not so sure, at least alves has the ability to run at players and take them on.

Hard to rotate with someone who's not been playing.

Think he had a difficult game- hamza looked superb at that level, was much more intrigued by him than by alves as a prospect for next season
