Lot of comments saying about how he tries to beat a man 5 times and keeps hold of the ball too long

I'd hold the ball in that Cardiff side.

Not being funny burning a Cardiff team bereft of any quality he tried. He tired to take people on, tried to make things happen when no one else could. They’re just a shit team…. Can’t give the lad pelters for trying.

League only 1 goal, 3 assits in 669 minutes.

Goal or assist every 167 minutes

Pretty good for a shite side in his first ever loan and first ever proper bit of senior football

I think it's really good, he's looked at home at that level.

Maradona use to keep hold of the ball and hes the finest player I've ever seen or will ever see ..

Shouldn't be seen as a bad trait

It is if you're not Maradona

Blimey, didn't realise Cardiff ended up finishing bottom. Tough experience for Alves, but good for him overall.

Goal or assist every 167 minutes is nothing to be sniffed at for the worst team in the league.

It's a decent return and there's so much more to come from him. The biggest test for him was whether he could stand up to the rigours of playing regularly and not get persistently injured. One minor injury for a few games aside, both before and after that he was in very good form and it's probably only the last 3-4 games that Cardiff properly fell apart.

I know they struggled throughout the season, but there was fight in the side right up until these final few weeks when the pressure got to them.

We can definitely benefit and utilise his ability to be an impact player. He was far more effective coming on and changing games, we need players like that.

And there will be exactly the same comments on here in 6 months time

I think a lot of the comments from Cardiff fans were knee-jerk following the run they’ve been on and subsequent relegation.

Before they were relegated he was getting praised and fans were moaning when he wasn’t starting or got subbed off.

Wouldnt read too much into the comments from yesterday. Will be a good squad player for us next season

I’m sure when Rogers gave him his debut he challenged him to take no more than 3 touches. Sounds like something he may need to keep working on.

With Cardiff's season over, will we see him involved now with us?

Interesting point as he under 21 he's doesn't need to be in the squad list.

Not sure.

Can't terminate his loan outside the transfer window

should have been a good learning experience for him to hopefully come into our first team next season

i know some of our fans will have wrote him off as he didnt do "wow hes amazing"

remember Liam Delap didnt do overly great at Stoke, PNE or Hull

so a loan spell doesn always make or break the player

It’s a good loan going down builds resilience. Losing at Watford in 12/13 proved to be foundational for Vardy, Drinkwater, Morgan etc

100% difficult times can be just as beneficial at times

He can certainly compete with McAteer for a place on the bench.  If we keep what we've got in the wide positions, we've got a lot of depth there and can shed a Reid or 2...
