I think Thomas’ contract is until 2026 so probably not in your top category there?

 

Some of those wages look well out though. For example I can’t imagine Hermansen being on less than Alves. And Alves signed a 4 year deal last year didn’t he so wouldn’t expire in 2026.

 

But yeah, generally looks about right in terms of who’d go even if some of the wages our off (I realise you will have picked that from somewhere and not come up with those yourself by the way).

 

I hope you’re right about Coady by the way but I’m not sure we’ll be able to shift him.

Soumare, I think, will be off.  He's done enough for someone to offer, is on a wedge and we'll  now make a PSR profit even on a modest offer.

 

Bilal should stay unless we get a silly offer.  His contract is long and he's probably not on silly money so if any suitors try and apply a championship discount it's a polite fvck off.   

 

As you said the wages are hit and miss but oh, if only Ayew was on 30k a week, we could all sleep easy.

If the contract on there was 2 years out, I can imagine the wages were. We definitely wouldn’t have been signing anyone on 90k p/w in the Championship when he signed. Question is what was he signed on and what rises were in place on Promotion? I still think 90k seems quite extreme but who knows….

That’s harsh, he ran the show in most games last season, and that’s where we’re headed. Him Mads and BEK are our only sellable players I think. He’s been poor in a very poor team this year but far from the worst.

No one is paying any money for Winks. And he won't leave anyway because no one would get anywhere near to matching his wages. 

 

Being happy with him "running the show" in the NPower, I guess that's indicative of how far the expectations of this club have fallen.

IMO .... if we do go down ... some of the current squad could perform well in the championship... however if we were to bounce back straight away ... how many would be good enough to compete at that level ... not many ... so if they are not premiership quality now .... let them leave or sell them ... the club seems to have no long term strategy or development

For me it feels similar to when we went down to league 1 where we had a massive clear out. 
 

id expect to see youth players promoted, and if PSR has genuinely been the problem then we have to massively cut our wage bill. 
 

That means no Vardy, Ndidi, Daka, Ricardo, Soumare, Winks. 
 

Promote youth, buy smartly (haha when have we done that in the past 5 years??)

 

But ultimately we need a new director of football for this to happen.

Always going to be a real challenge shifting the high earners. None of them can justify the wage and I doubt any club will be prepared to meet their pay demands.

The only way I think we'll be able to shift them is if they get a pay reduction on relegation & then give them free transfers & pray that they want to play football rather than sit on their arses
