fleckneymike Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Questions like these make my hate humanity and hope that we're taken out by one colossal asteroid. Either you're a crack pot who doesn't believe that it happened and deserve to be shot or you believe that it happened and you, well, are normal. If this one depresses you keep an eye out for the 9/11 one that will truly make you despise your fellow man.
The People's Hero Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 I remember watching a movie about that Australian tv station who broadcast the landing. Or something. It was a movie that had something to do with Australia and a television feed of something, so I'm assuming it must have been the moon landing. That's all from me. Good night. It's called The Dish or something like that.

Either you're a crack pot who doesn't believe that it happened and deserve to be shot or you believe that it happened and you, well, are normal. That's right. And there are no lies in the world. And Santa Claus probably actually does exist. And all conspiracy theorists are idiot nobodies and should just stop using their brains and questioning things and accept what they are told. And everything will be just fine.

There's a slight difference between 'lies' and ignoring scientific evidence. Here's my conspiracy, the whole conspiracy industry exists solely to sell books about conspiracies and the people who write them know full well that they are complete bullshit.

There's a difference between healthy skepticism and curdled paranoia.
fleckneymike Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 well said young man what's wrong with questioning anything , after all we live in a democracy ..............don't we ? There is nothing wrong with it. It's when you begin ignoring the answers that democracy dissapears and totalitarianism takes hold.

Quite right Except for the conspiracies that have turned out to be true , such as northwoods , gulf of tonkin , mossadegh.............oh and this lot http://conspiraciest...acies-from.html
The People's Hero Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Oh believe me I just have a healthy, questioning mind. If nothing else its an interesting debate, no?
marko Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Quite right Except for the conspiracies that have turned out to be true , such as northwoods , gulf of tonkin , mossadegh.............oh and this lot http://conspiraciest...acies-from.html Seeing as they've proved so many - including some very recent ones - you'd think they'd have a 43 year old 'myth' completely unpicked, wouldn't you?!
fleckneymike Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Quite right Except for the conspiracies that have turned out to be true , such as northwoods , gulf of tonkin , mossadegh.............oh and this lot http://conspiraciest...acies-from.html But these haven't turned out to be true, they turn out to have been discovered. What you essentially have is a list of lies that people found out about or people who colluded to kill old Romans.
Zingari Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Seeing as they've proved so many - including some very recent ones - you'd think they'd have a 43 year old 'myth' completely unpicked, wouldn't you?! yes, you'd think that things would work out in strict chronological order wouldn't you ? i'm stumped for an answer on that one
marko Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 yes, you'd think that things would work out in strict chronological order wouldn't you ? i'm stumped for an answer on that one ou Not at all, but you'd expect it to be solved Q.E.D by now. The conspiracy theorists have had plenty of time.
Zingari Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Not at all, but you'd expect it to be solved Q.E.D by now. The conspiracy theorists have had plenty of time. it's pretty hard to prove a negative I'll have to repeat here that I'm just a "don't know" , and nothing more but I like and respect questioners such as El Empty etc and want to support the efforts of him and his ilk .

Even if their questions have been repeatedly answered and yet they ignore the answers and continue to pedal the same tired, debunked theories.
The People's Hero Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Or even peddle. When I'm almost beaten in an argument, I like to resort to pedantry.
Zingari Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Even if their questions have been repeatedly answered and yet they ignore the answers and continue to pedal the same tired, debunked theories. They aren't really debunked though if you really stop to think about it . Men went to the moon in 69 , that's the claim ok ? But 40 odd years later the only rebuttal for men to repeat the feat is that, "Oh it costs too much" or "oh there's no need" , give me another example of a 40 year old technological feat that has not been repeated and surpassed . They did it six times with seemingly consummate ease in the late 60's and early 70's , but now it's reckoned to be years away to repeat this . I'm not saying this proves a thing , but come on you've at least got to be a bit suspicious of what you're told , or at least a bit more understanding of those that are questioning the veracity

I'm not saying this proves a thing , but come on you've at least got to be a bit suspicious of what you're told , or at least a bit more understanding of those that are questioning the veracity But they are debunked, there has never been a single shred or sliver of evidence to suggest that we didn't land on the moon. Find just one theory which shows we didn't land there, just one conspiracy that proves that the equipment still visible on the surface is fake, that the moon rocks are fake, that the refractor wasn't there etc Your only line of counter argument now seems to be that they haven't bothered returning and have no intention of returning so therefore we didn't go there in the first place. That is a logical fallacy. Just because we haven't returned doesn't mean we didn't go there in the first place. It took 52 years to surpass the deepest ever dive http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2012/03/120325-james-cameron-mariana-trench-challenger-deepest-returns-science-sub/

Eh? They built a space station. A space station in space. I built the micrometeorite detectors for it.
Zingari Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Eh? They built a space station. A space station in space. I built the micrometeorite detectors for it. space stations are in low orbit
Zingari Posted 30 July 2012 Posted 30 July 2012 Eh? They built a space station. A space station in space. I built the micrometeorite detectors for it. so you could quite easily explain to the Chinese idiots how they could got a man on the moon and bring him home again quite safely good luck with that because they don't think they can do it for at least another 12 years , so they'd reward you handsomely for your input
