That if you park across your own drive that has got a white line entry you can still be fined.

Not today but confirmed

If you flash your car lights for any other reason than to warn someone you are there you could be fined anything from £100 to a £1000. Curtesy could cost you.

Same in Denmark. The reasoning, as I've heard it, is that roads are public access areas and that no parking is allowed in front of driveways and to secure uniformity, this is how it's interpreted. Officers or stewards have no way of knowing if it's the owner's car or if there are certain arrangements made between locals, so it's a universal thing.

Kiesza suffered a broken rib right at the start of the iconic one-take Hideaway video and did the whole thing anyway.

I've just watched the video - firstly where did this injury take place and secondly I never knew it was an iconic video? it's a decent tune but I'd wasn't overly aware that music videos were still a thing anymore.

long gone are the days of staying up past midnight to see the unedited version of Rock DJ on The Box

There's more than one Eid in a year.

Yes I also only learned that this year too, and also Eid in Tétouan means people buying live sheep from Carrefour to sacrifice at home

Same here when we tried to get a building compliance certificate from a company that celebrates Eid to be told that the office was closed for Eid.

That's certainly in highway code, as is the use of a car horn. Can only be used to make other road users aware of your presence on the road and not as a rebuke or greeting. Nor can it be used between the hours of 11pm and 7am.

I very much doubt the (virtually non-existent) traffic cops would bother.

I know if the police spot you flashing other traffic to slow down after passing a mobile speed van they can fine you.

Yeah, but unlikely given the lack of police presence. (As above).

What other reason could there be for flashing your lights?

I flash (my headlights) at someone who is using high beams so I'm basically warning them I am there because they either forget they have high beams on or they are inconsiderate of other road users which I could use as an excuse for flashing my lights to let them know I AM there.

i flash to let some in, them to go first where you cant pass or to let them out of side road when in queue or turning down the road they're coming out of..

apologies for the typing only i have badly infected thumb nail. my only option for treatment as advised by 111 is to go to Loughborough from Hinckley when I'm not fit to drive.
