Facundo Buonanotte may not be the hero English football wanted, but he is the hero English football needed. Thanks to him, Forest's new golden age looks set to have been shorter than a pregnancy.

It's always going to be short lived when it's built around a 43 year old Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White who would probably rip your arm off to live in London with Madders.

In fairness this would be a disaster IMO. He'd do well there.

Would he?

His second season at Spurs was an abomination masked by a ridiculously easy run in the weakest Europa League in years.

I guarantee Frank improves Spurs.

I've seen some of their fans saying they're realistic because they'd 'settle' for top six if it meant concentrating on the Europa League. 😂😂😂

Well it depends on how well he gets on with Big John but I think the Forest fans will like him.

I agree that Frank will do well at Spurs. Not getting him when we were thinking about sacking Rodgers was a massive failure on our part.

The Forest fans would probably like him, but only for a short time if it goes like his tenure at Spurs. Don't forget he'll have much less to work with.

You could say that about Nuno though.

True.

I struggle to rate Postecoglu, though. You don't finish 17th in the Premier League with resources like those at Spurs unless you've got it very, very wrong somewhere along the line. I suspect Forest fans would see it as a downgrade.

It wouldn’t. The best manager for Forest is Nuno and they’d be mental to sack him.

Plus Marinakis's record of managerial appointments since buying Forest in 2017 is patchy to say the least.

Karanka - Miss

O'Neill- Miss

Lamouchi - Miss

Hughton- Miss

Cooper- Hit at Championship level, Miss at Premier League level.

Nuno - Hit

It would be difficult to be confident with any replacement, especially given any good manager would look at working with Marinakis and wonder what the **** he expects.

Nuno is probably there best chance of silverware in years. He leaves Forest will go on to regret it, alot of premier league clubs would be keen to get his signature.

I can see him ending up somewhere in Europe. Any big name starts slowly, and he'd be waiting in the wings to pounce.

He's worked in Spain and Portugal, so you could see him heading to a plum La Liga gig.

Even though he could do a job at top six club, they just wouldn't abide with his style of football as we seen at Tottenham. I think he only last 10 games and they only lost twice. Nuno could probably do a better job at Arsenal then Arteta.

Replacing the biggest overachiever in English football last season with its biggest underachiever will go down as much, much more stupid than anything even King Power have managed these past four years.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Forest get through three managers this season if Nuno goes in the next couple of weeks and Ange is as bad as he was at Spurs last season. I suspect the payoff will be biblical as well given Nuno only signed a new contract in the summer.

He'll have a big La Liga job by Christmas while Forest implode. Watch it. Drink it in. This is cinema.

'Delusional shit that Forest fans say' should just be its own thread.

Since when were Forest chasing Champions League football.... last season they overachieved.

A lot of them genuinely believe the opposite. And yes, I've spoken to some in person and somehow kept a straight face. It must be an incredibly difficult club to manage with a fanbase that mental.

Never put any meaning into manager betting markets. They contain tiny amounts of money and it only takes a few decent sized bets to move prices drastically.

All that's happened is a few people have lumped on a couple of hundred quid.

I remember when Lopetegui walked out on us I got advanced warning of it happening (a few days) and me sticking £300 on moved the price from 2/1 to Evens in about half and hour.

Just read an article in the Athletic, it’s not a fall out with Marinakis but Edu. And possibly because Edu likes Kia Joorabichan players rather than Jorge Mendes players (who Nuno is aligned to!)

All very football in 2025.

Nuno will be gone but they’ll be alright, I’m sure most on here were saying he’d be crap this year anyway like he was at Wolves!

You're underestimating the importance of a manager. Get it wrong and you're screwed. NES has been so important to them since appointed. Make no mistake, with Cooper at the helm and a four point deduction in 23-24, they'd have dropped. They certainly wouldn't have made Europe the following season even if they had survived.

Look at how vulnerable Brentford look without Frank. It's different if you expect a move and can make succession plans, but given Forest just gave him a new contract, I'd be surprised if much due diligence had been put into his replacement. Plus Marinakis's record of managerial appointments is pretty shite.
