A massive positive side affect for Reform is that it's put them on the front page of nearly every newspaper, probably for the next week or so and has the BBC linking every political news story to the impact of Reform.

 

Have the LIb Dems and Greens etc been disbanded as it would seem they no longer exist.

I would think that would depend on whether in this case negative publicity is better than no publicity at all. That tends to be very dependent on circumstance.

 

As for the Lib Dems and the Greens, Burnham and Labour appear to have done a very good job corralling floating voters from them, if recent polling is any judge.

I would suggest all news re Reform is good for them because believers will still believe and floaters tend to just read the headline

Speaking as a LibDem activist I find it galling that the 3rd largest party in Parliament by far rarely get a mention by the Beeb whereas every opportunity is made to push Reform into the headlights.

 

As for Labour corralling floating voters recently, our current local campaigning continues to bring more and more floaters into our fold and away from Reform and Labour.  All is not lost!

It's good to hear about the matter from "on the ground", as it were, and I agree with you that the media representation of Reform is wildly disproportionate to their actual political importance at the moment. 

 

That being said, while things can change on the spin of a penny (and Reform have shown that), is there any demonstrable reason to suspect that the Lib Dems will ascend anywhere beyond third place any time soon?

 

(By the by, I've said before here that Davey would make a superb Home Secretary IMO, but not sure he's cut 

out for the top job.)
