Hes a much better manager than the useless one we had last year, the main issue is same as the mens team really, its above the manager, I expect the weakest squad in the WSL.

But at the same time, do we actually have any football players?

Momiki was the only player last season that looked like she could play, run, track, tackle & off she went.

Leitzig when she 1st arrived looked like 1 of the best keepers in the division but now looks terrible.

Which core set of players does a sound manager build a team around, do we actually have 4-5 core players to build around?

I hate being negative it’s not in me but what I am is a realist and it’s going to take more than a decent manager to make us look a comfortable bottom end 9-10th steady team let alone 7-8th.

I agree, typically a football fans first instinct is to blame the manager, but honestly for both the mens and womens teams, I genuinely don't see that they are doing much/anything wrong.

We just dont have the quality.

The whole club lack investment in players. But I can’t see anything changing with the mess we are in financially

I did catch myself just after the game thinking that the January transfer window can't come soon enough... Then remembered we probably won't bring anyone in anyway.

But who knows, hopefully the new hierarchy is in place by then and things are a bit more organised, for both mens and women's teams.

Positive to take as well is that at least there is a week off from league duties now.

I'd be torn as to what we do for the palace game, do we play a first team and look to hopefully get some confidence with a win (assuming we do win). Or, do we play a second string to see if we can get someone to step-up.

I think I'd be more inclined for the 2nd option.

I feel both managers have been let down by the club. A new management team will have a massive task and it will take years to put right. Lack of investment in the stadium and teams cannot be fixed quickly

I don't live in the area. How is the team promoted? Do they advertise locally to junior football clubs? Do they run coaches to the game, or when they played at Burton?

The attendances are poor. About a 20th of the capacity. I know kick off times aren't great but you would think with the growth of the women's game it would see a boost. Just feels, from the outside, another team within the club left to drift along with no real direction or enthusiasm.

Having Women’s football team make them look good even the training ground I suspect is still there because it’s hard to sell with the covenants in it.

It's only really promoted as much as you see on social media or the website.

The arsenal game was promoted more than any game they've played in a long time and there was a reasonable turnout for it (relatively), but you will find that the away fans outnumbered the home fans.

It's very rare they play "home" games at different stadiums, I think it tends to only be if it's a home cup game, or a league game whereby the men are already scheduled to play at the KP on the same or next day.

From what I can remember the last time we played a hame game away from the KP was against Villa in the 23/24 season, I might be wrong though. But no, they don't run coaches.

The growth has stunted, particularly for the smaller clubs as people are more drawn to the lionesses and where they play, as opposed to seeing their local teams.

You'd still be surprised at how many people DON'T watch Women's football still. My daughter plays in an U8s team, which I'm an assistant coach for and none of the other girls have any real Women's football inspiration outside of the Lionesses. Even the head coach has zero clue as to what's going on in the WSL.

There's still a long way to go.

What covenants are there?

genuinely do not understand anyone abusing these players. It's clear watching that they care and put everything in, but that they just don't have the talent for this level.

As long as the players try their best and play to their ability level that's all they can do. If you feel the need to blame, not abuse then maybe it should be directed at whoever signed them.

Perhaps if the club was more open about what it's trying to achieve and how that is being managed people would be more understanding.

To be honest, even if it wasn't the case that they were putting it all in, it's still not acceptable to harass or abuse anyone.

You wouldn't put up with it in your work day, why should anyone else.

I think I speak for all sane fans that we don't want the toxic few that do abuse players, go and support someone else.

oh no, I agree, what I mean is that typically abuse comes from when players are perceived as being lazy and disrespecting the club (see Faes for the men's team), but that's just not the case here

At least it's not an ACL

Our track record with injuries probably still puts her out for the rest of the season.

I don't think weve heard about Mouchon yet have we?

Am I going to be moving to India again to watch this today? lol

I dont think it's going to be broadcast anywhere, unfortunately.

None of our other league cup games have been so far, and I can't seem to find any indication it's anywhere else.

Gone full-strength with the squad, probably the right decision.

Hopefully a decent win will boost confidence... Assuming we can win decently. Looking at how Palace have been this season, it should be comfortable, they are currently quite low in the WSL2 table.
