I thought I'd put this in here as it's the most general thread about potential departures / remainers - Is "It's a world cup season" still a thing, i.e. players feeling that not being in a top division will affect their chances of selection or being at the right level of intensity when the tournament arrives?

 

I'm sure it's a narrative which rightly or wrongly the agents of Faes, Kristiansen and others will indulge in. Could it affect our chances of keeping Al Khannous and Hermansen? Could it be used to encourage some to leave - "Vestergaard mate you're never going to make the squad if you stay here" (false tears in eye), "Hey Soumare I hear France are desperate for a long legged loafer to jog around midfield pointing", "Winksy, I hear Tuchel sees you as a potential pound shop Pirlo get yourself in the spotlight son" etc.

Leicester City; the club that will turn down good offers for their deadwood and couldn't get a deal across the line if it was life or death. But apparently we're shipping out 15 first team players lol
