If they put that god awful Serge poem up please boo that **** Top bit. Boo that bastard and him “leading us” bit until tears come out the 5ft 2, 2 inch dicks eyes.

Otherwise, let’s make it a cracker, feel a little excited to start

I'm still in disbelief that they've issued this, but it shouldn't be a surprise- this is the fanbase they want, this is the subsection of our support that they've been basing all decision and policy around for years.

I know. And I don’t agree with it not being stunned before having its throat slit. Each to there own but it’s not for Me, so I don’t eat it

That’s fair enough. Was just saying it wouldn’t taste any different. You’ve probably eaten halal without even knowing it.

Thoughts today?

As always Wednesday fans were superb - over the years they are consistently in the top 3 for noise and constant singing

Flat until the goals. Wednesday fans were probably the best away support I’ve seen from an English team here.

Respectfully, how do you think animals in non-halal abattoirs are slaughtered? I suspect if most people visited one and saw how it's done, a fair number would walk out as vegans.

Well, uk law is they must be stunned. So I’d hope stunned first. I’m not vegan. And I accept you have to kill something to eat meat, but I was always taught to do it with as little suffering as possible

You can minimise cruelty but not eliminate it.

Also, about 88% of animals slaughtered for halal meat are stunned first. Interestingly, no kosher meat comes from pre-stunned animals but there is very little pushback against it.

UK law doesn't say that, in spite of RSPCA campaigns. The vast majority of animals slaughtered for halal meat are actually pre-stunned. Plus there are real concerns about suffering in secular abattoirs.

I only buy cruelty free products as in this day and age there is no reason to shove chemicals down a puppies throat or wear make up tested in monkeys eyes.  It should be completely eliminated as its archaic and cruel.  I live very close to a beagle puppy farm that breeds them for testing and hearing them leave at 18 weeks old breaks your heart.  You cannot unhear or unsee it.  That's why I am so passionate about it

On the government website it says “you must stun all animals before you kill them unless you are carrying out religious slaughter”.

I’m glad the club try to include everyone. But that shouldn’t be blanket, it should be a halal option for those who want it. That was all my point was

Unfortunately, cruelty free doesn't really exist unless we go fully vegan and even that has impact on wildlife and animals due to the environmental impact.
