True, but i thought we were slightly more direct and attacking Vs Barnsley, and we did create plenty of chances.

For me, poor finishing cost us those 2 points.

And the defensive mistake, we were chasing the win but very lucking not to loose that game. Barnsley really messed up a couple of overloads late on in that game.

Bigger clubs will be watching him for certain, reference that chance, he scores, we win…..

The easiest chance was Cullen's miss, that kills the game 2nd half at 2-0

And a manager that frees players up and facilitates more risk in the opposition third.

I bet we have relatively few box entries for all our possession

Martin spoke about this in his post match interview. We touched the ball 50 times in their box I think he said.

We should have been 3 up at half time, maybe 4.

Slight exaggeration from Martin, I'll give him 2-0. I wouldn't expect the 5' Braybrooke to score that header, it's not his strength, but it was a very good chance.

We did create 4 very good chances before the sending off, alot of the good play started with  Aluko breaking the lines by running with the ball and creating overloads.

Did RM mention his huge mistake taking Aluko off at half time, that move was a tactical masterstroke😂

Martin didn’t say we should have been 3/4 up, I did. We absolutely should have, Thomas breaking through, Alves chance and Braybrookes header 2 of them chances should have gone in.

Against 10 men.

Opta says we've had 191 touches in the box all season and we rank 4th but we're 1st for possession with 68% on average. We absolutely should have scored more ut finishing isn't the issue when we were already winning against 10. What's the point in trying to tire the opposition out with the zealous brand of possession football if it doesn't work against 10 men? With the way they were pressing they should have been gassed out in the first half.

I think the issue was both poor, slow build up in the second half and poor finishing in the first half. Our substitutions made us worse. I’m not defending him by any stretch, just telling you what he said.

Yes sorry, we should have been 2/3 up but Alves and Braybrooke just don't look like natural finishers to me.

I'm not sure why Alves is going with the outside of his foot, should be a simple sidefoot into the far corner.

Riis would bury the Braybrooke header, but he tried to generate the power instead of re-directing the cross.

They really need to work on this during the extended break.

Braybrooke played a great floated ball into the box and missed everyone and fell to Alves but it looked like he completely scuffed it

Ah yes, I remember that. Looked like not hitting the target was poor

This is why it is critical our team creates more decent chances than it has been doing. Prior to Saturday, bar the 2nd half vs MK Dons I don't think we creared more than the oppositions and so cannot feel hard done by when we failed to win those games.

I don't think we have enough ruthless finishers in this squad, not like we had under Enzo for example. So in order to get the job done we cannot rely on an xG of 0.7 and only 3 shots on target especially not when we are as prone to errors at the back.

Alves is our best creative player currently from out wide, but i don't see lots of goals coming from Page and Braybrooke like we got from say KDH or James and I don't see a right winger scoring loads either. So we have to be relentless at chance creation or be far more robust at the back.

Conor Chaplin being made of wet bog roll doesn't help either.

Desperately need to get Braybrooke to play deeper to move the ball quicker.

I think if he and Page switch positions we'd see an immediate improvement in chance creation.

Page is the better footballer but Braybrooke is better at setting the tempo. I think Braybrooke is wasted in this 3 man midfield with him being the furthest forward. He's better with the play behind ahead of him whereas Page is better off getting on the ball in the final 3rd.

I agree that as a rule if we are playing a holding midfielder in Lundstram, with one playing box to box and the other naturally more attacking and higher up then that should be Braybrooke box to box and Page as the 10. Or maybe play a double pivot then that has to be Braybrooke and Lundstram.

I thought it worked better on Saturday, certainly 1st half with Braybrooke in the right channel as we saw in pre-season. He seems more suited in that area of the pitch and wasn't as high in starting positions so effected the build up more. His ball over for Alves chance was sublime.

Just don't see a midfield of Page, Braybrooke and Lundstram scoring enough.

Lundstram is a 1 or 2 a season guy, Braybrooke is the same, Page has never scored a senior goal.

A proper goal midfield  has 3 or 4 goals with the chances Braybrooke has missed.

Yeah it'll not offer up a lot, although if we continue to create similar chances to Saturday then things might change. Braybrooke's actually been unlucky. His good chance vs Notts County would be the type of chance a Jordan James would bury but that header on Sat was actually a decent effort and likewise his shot off the inside of the post vs MK Dons.

It's not so much the chances missed but the chances not yet created because of the types of player they are. With wingers not renown for scoring much yet either, we do look like a team that simply has to create a lot more chances to get 2+ goals a game.

Kamari Doyle had a 10 goal season at this level 2 seasons ago.

Think we should give him a look in instead of Lundstram if the goals aren't coming.

Without sounding too much like Steve “premier league experience” Cooper, we need lundstram to help keep things ticking over. An experienced voice in a young midfield.

Also Lundstram and Doyle play different positions no?

you could do it and drop Sammy into the 6 position instead of the 8 but I'd keep Lundstram in for his experience, and physicality
