I’m fed up with all the negativity on these pages. Give him a chance.

I reckon he’ll keep us up!

Brave call at this early stage.

Martin is a poor-mediocre manager.

Leicester City is a toxic club

In financial turmoil

Dumb owner who lets his friend wipe his arse with said finances

I very doubt Martin's ability to operate successfully in such climate.

Of course Stringer supports him, both tossers of the highest order

I mean anyone who knows anything about my posting history knows I hate Stringer.

And "Sound" is certainly an exaggeration.

However, If, and it's a big if, the players are there to play his kind of football effectively come the start of the season, and the players align on the ethos, we should be doing pretty well in League One.

I mean I imagine the majority of you lot will hate it even if we are top of the league but oh well.

The Championship is a bit of a different matter but one step at a time. I go into it with an open mind, as it could be far worse.

I think he’ll get us promoted this season, then struggle for two seasons in the championship mid table.

Yeah, it's player pending for me but in general agree.

I mean Harry Winks is a great start if he stays, can't think of a bigger wet dream of a midfielder for Martin in League One.

Completely destroys our one golden opportunity to rebuild with a squad and style fit for the modern game, which we ourselves helped trailblaze with our title win. Ten years ago.

We had one chance to get someone in who would prioritise pressing, fast transitions and fitness and instead decided to go for more of the same. We've already been left behind, this is just the bit where the zombies grab our leg as the rest of the cast disappear over the horizon line.

This is my biggest fear about the whole thing.

We have sod all money so I wouldn't worry too much.  We can add to the squad when we move upwards.

To be honest we should have prioritised that model and recruited into it immediately after the title win when we were still in the Premier League. It could have been our clear identity.

The problem with the slow, slow, possession type model is that it will always get destroyed by the best teams who just do it better and with better players. We saw in 15/16 that low block, fast transition, was so difficult to prepare for and play against when almost everyone else is playing a sort of facsimile of the Pep model

Recruitment is the biggest issue in my opinion. If the team can bring in the players Martin needs to thrive, the tactics can work in League One and in the Championship. I think we will have an advantage being in league one, with the academy players we have and the loans we can attract. If we are trying to play possession style football Martin's way with league one players then it will absolutely fail. But it will have to be a full squad who can play this way - not just a few marquee players. Martin's appointment to me says that the club are approaching this as a complete rebuild. So for me its not all about the tactics, its about the players we get to make those tactics work.
