I’ve just done a deeper dive into some of the fixture list. There is some parts which are a right mess. But the most obvious is having an international break on an Easter weekend where they have arranged two fixtures on the Friday and the Monday!

You don’t know what our squad will be so how do you know whether or not they’ll be up for it?

It will require a huge level of outgoings and a massive shift in the nature of incomings. Basically a level of transfer business we haven’t seen since about 2015.

Not impossible but just a massive change needed overnight.

We haven’t had many names mentioned but Conor Chaplin and Archie Collins I have seen mentioned also. They would at least be the right nature of incomings based on character.

Then the question is whether the nature of a Russell Martin team, the style, is suited to a team that is ‘up for it’. It is more likely, if we do well, it is a case of grinding teams down due to resources. I can’t imagine we will be the sort of side to look up for it. And it could take time to get into our stride. His Southampton side had a long unbeaten run across the middle part of the season, they didn’t start fast.

I guess you will call me negative as is the fashion currently. Personally I think that is a balance outlook on what we know. And I certainly don’t think it’s any kind of stretch to suggest Notts on the opening day will be massively more up for it than us. Doesn’t mean they will win but they will be more up for it as per the original comment.

Leicester City supporters will be able to plan and prepare for the new away days awaiting them in League One this season after the fixture lists were released.

Russell Martin's side will travel to League Two play-off winners Notts County at Meadow Lane on the opening weekend. They will then face another local side in Burton Albion before visiting MK Dons.

The fixture release day also handed the Foxes their first opponent in the Carabao Cup with Northampton Town visiting the King Power Stadium. Fans will be able to plan weekends away and travel arrangements now the schedule is out.

However, they will need to wait until early next month to confirm those plans due to the broadcast selections. The EFL have already confirmed which games will be televised, with City's trip to Notts being shown live on Sky Sports Football at 12.30pm.

2nd July - literally Friday coming. Why it couldn’t be worded like and mentioning that another TV selection is out by or on 31st July

Ha Ha true, I remember once doing a save where I went on holiday every season and found Bolton Wanderers in the National League North one time
