We have welcomed two new additions to our LCFC Women coaching staff with Marie Hourihan joining us as Assistant Coach and Jade Moore taking up the role of First Team Coach.
Marie Hourihan joins LCFC Women as Assistant Coach
Jade Moore added as First Team Coach
Goalkeeping department to be led by Ollie Colebourne
Marie makes the move to Leicestershire following a 14-month spell as Head Coach of Plymouth Argyle, having previously spent two years at Stoke City as Women's First Team Head Coach and Academy Coach.
The UEFA Pro Licence candidate arrives with extensive experience across the women’s game - both as a coach and professional player - having represented Chelsea, Manchester City, SC Braga and Birmingham City.
Jade Moore, a former England international, links up with Rick Passmoor as our new First Team Coach after an illustrious playing career with the likes of Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Orlando Pride and Tampa Bay Sun.
The 35-year-old makes the move into coaching with elite-level playing experience having won multiple accolades domestically, including one FA Cup and one FA Women's Premier League Cup.
Ollie Colebourne, meanwhile, moves into the role of Goalkeeper Coach having worked in our Professional Game Academy system, and most recently as Technical Coach for our Women’s First Team.
He steps into the role following the departure of Tom Pressman who leaves the Club with our thanks and best wishes.
Assistant First Team Coach Sam Rose has left the Club to pursue other opportunities, and LCFC Women would like to thank him for his contribution.

I know the women’s game has now made it compulsory for a female coach to be on the back room staff but with Hourihan doing a decent job at Plymouth and Jade Moore coming in, its looking ominous for P1sspoor if he continues where he left off last season.

I can agree, the game needs more female coaches. It would be strange to see all male coaching team in charge of a ladies team at any level.

Nice to see London City have bought the league in the wsl. Kinda glad we're not in it. Their new training ground involved taking over a community sports centre, the local sports teams were given 48hrs notice to fu*k off. Slightly off topic but I thought it was worth a mention. Just like the premier league, you wonder what chance a club without cash has to survive in it. At least we won't be cannon fodder in league 2.

I’m broadly supportive of London City from the perspective of seeing an independent women’s team doing well, but there are certainly reservations, not least the fact their starting line up last night was the first in WSL history not to include a single English player.  Good to see former Loughborough Foxes player Becky Langley on their coaching staff though.

They spent €3.4m in summer transfers, 2nd only to Arsenal who spent €3.9m & that is more than the combined squad cost of 8 of the 14 WSL teams.

The signing of Putellas for €1.15m alone is more than the entire Charlton team cost and just about on par with Crystal Palace, well done the FA for just allowing the creation of another 4-5 club league 😔

Just a clone of the men's PL which is an unacceptable structure. They FA really shouldn't have let this happen.

Yep sorry basic salary she will also have bonuses and commercial agreements which puts her up with the highest paid players in the women’s game & probably only 2nd to Rodman.

 

Of course her name should bring in huge revenue for lionesses to offset this but still for an independent woman’s team going into only their 2nd season in the WSL with all the other major signings I’m sure the other clubs will be looking out for their books in the next reporting period.

Though the way they have gone about it is not morally good, they will show whay a few of us have been saying for some time. That the first team to really invest in their womens team (outside the top 3) will reap the benefits.

 

The amount is a drop in the ocean compared to what is needed to run a mens club, but the first one to capitalise on the growing game will benefit commercially.
