Kane hat trick.

Stat paddage.

Golden boot.

I mean we laugh but Mbappe will be absolutely furiously trying to score for the golden boot. He'll care about the game more than most you'd think cos he's currently losing to Messi by a gnat's bollock.

Sadly 0-3 defeat incoming, France will react after their poor performance against Spain. England I just feel will look shattered playing a day later in hot temperatures.  Be nice to win this and have our closest world cup finishes to 66.

Surely he changes things and brings in Watkins, Saka, Mainoo etc

with my fantasy team in mind:brendan:..how likely are the teams to go "full strength"?

Dont want to stick with the likes of Mbappe, Kane, Bellingham, Dembele when they may possibly not play?

is there some kind of unwritten rule/brown envelope from fifa ensuring the big names play so as not to further dilute what is already a joke of an event?

Kane in particular has been on his knees for both the previous games so I’d be astounded if he at least doesn’t get hauled off around 60-65 or maybe even doesn’t start.

but he is the captain and this will be his final world cup game??

decision, decisions.

I feel like Thomas Tuchel after going 1-0 up in a game of football:brendan:

Has Kane said it would be his last WC?

i thought he said he would do next euros and thats it.

could be wrong:surrender:

I would hope come 2030 we have a replacement but even for Euro 2028 we need someone to be pushing him and whoever is in charge willing to haul him off.

Worst thing about this game is it starting at 10pm lol

If Pickford plays I'm going to riot, annoys that none of the other keepers get a friendly appearance but surely they have to get a game here. I'd do half each.

Not sure how Tuchel will approach it because another defeat is negative press for him. Just go for it and see what happens.

He wont be good enough to start in 4 years likely. Won't he be like 36 pushing 37? For me, thats a sub spot at best.

New generation time!

Thats a cert, euro 28 will be his certain call on international football.

We need to start thinking about Kane not being at 28 either, he might be buy we need to looking at players before then rather than giving Kane more games to stat pad.

Can't see who the next striker talent is though.

Watkins and Toney both 30+ now. Unless by a miracle in the next two years we see the rise of Liam Delap... dont hold your breathe.

I hope we move away from being entirely reliant on one centre forward and hell bent on playing 4-2-3-1

It’s probably more important for Tuchel than any of the players and if these reports about them not being happy then will he get a performance out of them?

The only people that don’t care about it are the English

because we have such an awful attitude

The French will be up for this, they want to smash us, and probably will to be fair.

And I agree, these 3rd place matches are a waste of time and only really on for commercial reasons bla bla bla

but it is still nonetheless a competitive international match against a top ranked country, don’t we always bemoan that we don’t play the best nations often enough? Don’t we always say we only ever beat the easier nations? But always crash out to the better nations?

so now we are in a competitive match against a top top ranked nation, the English go “nah not for me” ????  :dunno: couldn’t make it up

it might not be a match to win the World Cup, but it’s points towards our fifa ranking and the chance for players to have a rare crack at the top ranked side, as well as for players to increase their goal tally’s in the competition etc etc and just in general to land one on the French and test ourselves

it’s better than seeing a mid week friendly match against Andorra ffs

I’m all in and want us to put them to the sword
