"Sylla is away with Guinea in their build-up to the African Nations Cup"

Told ya Sylla was full of shit.

Going on about he may not compete in the ANC for the sake of Leicester City.

He was always going, so why say he may not in the first place? What a tool!

Your not allowed to say that, its "racist" :ermm:

May i suggest that levein will bring someone in weve never heard of. Even when we signed someone from a premiership club (hammond), we hadnt heard of him. Smith too, i can only think some of us had heard of drablous and johanson, but thats it.

I knew you wouldn't be able to go a post without mentioning your beloved Johansson. :D

If the signing is from the English league we will of heard of him because Levein has said he will sign a striker with a PROVEN track record, if he signs a young up and coming striker again it will completely go against what he has said and Levein usually doesn't go against his word in things like this.

I still hope it's that Austrian dude.

Rated As a Million pound player, as I have told three other people.

You may be right. I've never seen him.

But a golfing pal of mine's a staunch Walsall supporter and he doesn't get over-excited talking about him.

Yeah for sure, hes looking for someone who will score goals, but why would a team above the 3rd division let a goal scorer go, and how could we afford him??? Cant see him being someone we know.

This is also on the SKY web site in an article over the possible collapse of the CREWE deal to sign Gareth MC Auley.

"The Leicester City board have recently handed manager Craig Levein a bumper transfer kitty, although it is believed that his priority lies in adding a proven goalscorer to his misfiring squad.

Should The Foxes find that they are left with a cash surplus, however, Levein may well move for the 26-year-old, with local reports suggesting that he may even arrive at The Walkers Stadium within the next few weeks."

Love the bit about a BUMPER Kitty :D:D

It will be a player who's scored goals throughout his career but has fallen out of favour with his current club.

Yes, i was thinking something similar. Hes likely to be something like 28-31, living in the resevers of the top 2 divisions, or playing in the lower 2, or non hollywood championship teams (crewe, brighton, that kind of club).

If not in England...*matron, would you fetch me a pin, and a map of europe, jolly good, tally ho*

I posted this on the rumours page but no-one seems to be adding to that one anymore. Malcolm Christie is mentioned on football-rumours. I know its a dubious source, but he's been here before and he doesnt het a look in at Boro. He seems to fit the profile too!

He's injured, He used to play for Nuneaton Borough and Middlesborough play Nuneaton tommorrow, was reading in the paper, he's gutted because he really wanted to play against Nuneaton.

Martin O'Neill had him in for a couple of reserve games and said no, 2 weeks later he was in Derby's first team.

Didnt realise he was still injured, seems like he always has been since he went there.

I believe he'll bring in Michael Ricketts and I wouldn't be too discouraged by that. He is certainly more mobile than de Vries (who isn't) and a pairing of him and Hume would certainly be prosperous. He's big strong and reasonably pacey everything Dublin, Blake and Big Mark ain't.

He was very good at Walsall and at Bolton and I think there is enough about him to resurect his career. His next move will be his last chance to return to the 'glory days' of not so long ago.

I sincerely hope not. I thought he'd had a mini revival at Cardiff, but they all think he's shite. He might be better than de Vries but that's no reason to sign him. We might not be that glamourous to play for, but i'd rather us gamble on someone else. I have heard Ricketts mentioned alot recently and it's scaring me.

About a million for 5 months.

he's supposed to be on £2m a year............

Manchester City boss Stuart Pearce has revealed there has been no interest in former England striker Robbie Fowler.

The injury-prone 30-year-old has slipped behind Andrew Cole, Darius Vassell, Antoine Sibierski and Bradley Wright-Phillips in the pecking order at Eastlands and it is believed the Citizens would welcome the chance to lose his hefty salary from their wage bill.

Portsmouth, Birmingham and Norwich have all been linked with a move for the former Liverpool favourite, but it appears his future is no nearer to being decided.

"He [Fowler] is like anyone else at our club in that if someone made a serious offer for him we would sit down and think about it," said Pearce.

"But we have had no enquiries for him at all."
