Nationwider Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 I would also hazzard a guess at Matt Janson Or what about Jason Euell? I wouldn't bet against Mr.X coming from Charlton. If its Fowler, he'll have done amazingly well to have kept it quiet. I'll be really surprised if it is, however.
Bob666 Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Why? why would he bother in the Championship besides picking up some wages - another Wise in the making (well maybe not that bad!)
whothefoxthat Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Jarni Litmanen, Ex Liverpool, what's he up to ?
Hitesh Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 My Source has just said the Robbie Fowler has pulled up to the training ground today.... Oh no, hes driving away, he saw MDV running towards him...ah well, you win some and you lose some!
Hitesh Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Jarni Litmanen, Ex Liverpool, what's he up to ? Went to Ajax for a season and then went somewhere lower league in Europe and we never saw him play again. I think he is coaching somewhere!
London_Fox Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Just found this on Matt Jansen...if it's true then I guess it rules him out. Trio to step up Jansen hunt Bolton, Everton and Huddersfield look set to fight it out for Matt Jansen after the Blackburn striker was released from his contract. Jansen spoke out at the weekend, claiming after just one start this season his career was going nowhere, believing he was in need of a fresh start. After six years with Rovers, and more than 180 appearances, Jansen is to get his wish, with Sam Allardyce, David Moyes and Huddersfield boss Peter Jackson, who confirmed his interest in the 28-year-old on Thursday, leading the chase for his signature. http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._930633,00.html p.s. I'm so excited and hoping and praying that it isn't a disappointment, they've built it up so much that it had better be quality!
Dr The Singh Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 My Source has just said the Robbie Fowler has pulled up to the training ground today.... Oh no, hes driving away, he saw MDV running towards him...ah well, you win some and you lose some! More likely Fowler found out he was playing alongside MDV and then ran away!!! Anyway, the suspense is killing me, I want to know now. Anderson tell us now!!!
Strokes Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Went to Ajax for a season and then went somewhere lower league in Europe and we never saw him play again. I think he is coaching somewhere! 35 years old, not really a striker either
Ricey Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Exciting stuff but I fear we'll hear nothing between now and Sunday I love the transfer window.
Nationwider Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 35 years old, not really a striker either We've already got one of those - Dion Dublin.

Don't build yourself up to much, when was the last time Leicester signed a striker you were really excited about.
Bob666 Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Don't build yourself up to much, when was the last time Leicester signed a striker you were really excited about. Collymore............
Ric Flair Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Don't build yourself up to much, when was the last time Leicester signed a striker you were really excited about. I was fairly excited about Hume. I was very excited about Connolly and as Bob said I remember skiving off school in the afternoon to get home and watch the Collymore press conference on Sky Sports News. What a day that was.
Strokes Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 I reckon it cud be Andy Johnson from W.B.A, Midfielder
Ric Flair Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 I reckon it cud be Andy Johnson from W.B.A, He's a midfielder and hasn't got a proven track record.
davieG Posted 6 January 2006 Author Posted 6 January 2006 Don't build yourself up to much, when was the last time Leicester signed a striker you were really excited about. You're right and the chances are it's just a bit of propaganda to boost ticket sales for sunday.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 Collymore............ And which club are Leicester in negotations with, one based in Soho for a guess.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 I was fairly excited about Hume. I was very excited about Connolly and as Bob said I remember skiving off school in the afternoon to get home and watch the Collymore press conference on Sky Sports News. What a day that was. I was excited about Connolly, and thought Hume was a decent signing, but no striker Levein has made has excited as much as Connolly, Collymore, Even Cottee
London_Fox Posted 6 January 2006 Posted 6 January 2006 My bet is now it's someone from Portsmouth. They have plenty of good strikers but don't really need them now due to this huge influx on money...have just signed someone new for 4.1 million which leaves them with more strikers then they need: Lomana Tresor LuaLua: GP 16 | G 3 Age 25 Collins Mbesuma : GP 4 | G 0 Age 21 (previously South African player of the year with 35 in 34 games) Vincent Pericard : GP 5 | G 0 Age 23 Dario Silva: GP 13 | G 2 Age 33 Svetoslav Todorov: GP 11 | G 1 Age 27 Of all of them LuaLua, Pericard and Todorov (who was awesome at this level for Portsmouth) are pretty exciting although Todorov is the most natural finisher. All have gone for sums of around 1/2 million and are down the pecking order now. As for when was the last time a signing really excited me...Mancini or Collymore (and even more so after the Sunderland game)
