Palace Man Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Hi, hope you don't mind me coming on here, but rumours at Palace are that we have a bid 250k for your player Stephen Hughes, and the bid is being considered: http://forums.cpfc.org/showthread.php?thre...25&pagenumber=1 Just wondered if you have heard of this? Thanks Nice win yesterday by the way

Thanks Nice win yesterday by the way We already had money for a striker!! It would take more than that bid to get him. Hardly worth selling one of your best players for only a 150k profit. We'd have to replace him for 150k. Nah chance.
Durnerz Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 I very much doubt he'll be going anywhere unless its for big big money. Levein rates him highly. Williams on the other hand....

Ric Flair Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Levein said at the time of signing Stephen Hughes that he's got the bargain of the century and that he thought he was worth a few million and only found out he was up for grabs when he tried to sign another player with the same agent. So it would take a seven figure sum to get him, if he did go for a pittance thered be a riot.
Babylon Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 f he did go for a pittance thered be a riot. or a fryatt.
Ric Flair Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 or a fryatt. Even a Fryatt wouldn't cushion the blow. Both please
Lichfieldfox. Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Complete Tosh.Tis the problem with the january sales, few bargains and a load of crap on the shelves.Read the small print contract till 6/08 why would we sell him and what would we get for 1/4 mil absolut sod all
lush Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Levein said at the time of signing Stephen Hughes that he's got the bargain of the century and that he thought he was worth a few million But that was when he blatantly lied, cos we didnt know better So it would take a seven figure sum to get him £7 if he did go for a pittance thered be a riot. Your exagerating. Hughes hasnt materialised as the player we`d like him to be. Once he gets 10/15 games going without injury, then he may show some quality. At the moment, hes playing alongside 2 other Cm`s for support.

I'm not exagerating, if Hughes was sold for £250k there would be an uproar.
TrickyTrev Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 I think Levien will hang on to him, he'd sooner sell Joey or Williams.
lush Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 I'm not exagerating, if Hughes was sold for £250k there would be an uproar. Uproar or riot?
Dr The Singh Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Uproar or riot? It's amazing what a good performance can bring about, i'm surprised there are not many more rumours for our players especially Stearman!!!! I can't see city selling any of there top players unless it's stupid money!!!
Strokes Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Uproar or riot? Why are you being petty? I don't riot was meant litteral do you?
Babylon Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Why are you being petty? I don't riot was meant litteral do you? Bloody hell I was just dusting off my baseball bat and pepper spray as well.
Gené and Tonic Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Levein would never let him go for that sort of money. 1.5 mill is more realistic at the moment
Babylon Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Levein would never let him go for that sort of money. 1.5 mill is more realistic at the moment Nah not in the current market. I don't think the club would take it seriously unless is was £500k minimum though.
Gené and Tonic Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 I woulnd't be happy with 500k, unless it gets us a quality player in
BartonFox Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 Over Craig Levein's dead body will Hughes be sold, he was miles better than Gudjonsson last night and he's not fully fit and is carrying weight. I have no doubts Williams and Hughes can play centrally together now and hopefully CL will trust them to show it on Saturday.
Chimp Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 [..] Hughes hasnt materialised as the player we`d like him to be. Once he gets 10/15 games going without injury, then he may show some quality. At the moment, hes playing alongside 2 other Cm`s for support. Totally agree with that assessment of Hughes. He's been either injured or playing while recovering from an injury ever since he came here. IMO, we really haven't seen anywhere near the best he can produce, if he can get a good run of games together, get his fitness and sharpness back together I think we'll see him shine.
TornadoShaunUK Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 if we solds him for that much there would be an outrage, if you have bid that much for Stephen Hughes then I would expect wqe'd throw it back in your face as that is a joke of a sum.
The People's Hero Posted 9 January 2006 Posted 9 January 2006 £250,000 We could always send them Joe Hammill, they might not notice.
