No Smoking!

Certainly alcohol causes more trouble to innocent people than smoking ever does.:unsure::( <_<

True, alcohol does cause more trouble... BUT.... if someone is so drunk that it is ruining your match you can go to a steward and get them removed. If someone is smoking next to you what can you do about it? Nothing if it is allowed!!!

Someone having a beer or a pie next to me doesn't do anything to annoy or hurt me. Someone smoking really pisses me off!! I don't like the smell, it makes me stink of smoke and could cause harm later in life.

The smell makes me feel sick , and its even worse when its on your clothes.

I was sat in the east stand. Some guy asked me what the red cards were for, I told him. To be honest smoking on the concourse would be better, and ban smoking from the seating areas. As iam a none smoker it be nicer to not have smoke in your face. So its from next season this policy!

We're supposed to live in a democracy and if most people want a ban we should abide by it. I voted for a ban but would have accepted things if it had gone the other way for no ban at all. At least the club gave the fans the option to vote on the issue unlike the government who won't allow the public to vote on such issues in case they say no to a ban. At the end of the day if you don't vote or allow your voice to be heard why should anyone listen.

Unfortunately, the results produced from the vote on Saturday were always going to be skewed.

Most people being asked the question would relate the question into a "do you like smoking question" as opposed to a "does the discomfort of others smoking mean it should be banned"?

All that may happen is to introduce a rule that will alienate a certain section of our fans. Solutions could have been found (smoking in concourses, etc) but instead, a ban was decided ending all discussions or dialogue to finding appropriate solutions to keep everybody happy.

As i said earlier, smoking may p*ss you off, but not enough to stop you going to the football. If it did, you would either move your seat or stop going. As you have done neither, it would seem that smoking is not that big a problem.

Let's be honest, smokers are not rabid animals, if you ask them to blow smoke the other way, most understand and frequently do.

Right, that's me off my high horse now.

The right decision was made. I voted for no smoking. I have 2 smokers in front of me and it does annoy me. They can smoke before entering the ground and as soon as they leave. 90% (about) of fans think the same. Fact! And yes it is a fact, because 90% (about) voted for it.

Don't **** tell me what is and isn't a big deal to me. Having people in my family with cancer due to smoking makes this a big deal to me.

So I have to keep moving seats because someone wants to smoke!!!! Why the hell should I have to move?? Why do I have to put myself out when it is someone elses vice. If someone want to smoke it should be they who have to put in the extra effort should they wish to do it.

Blow it the other way!! Ha ha Brilliant... so the poor sod in the other direction gets it, great idea.

Smoking is a filthy habit so good riddance!

Exactly... if people want to do it and it doesn't effect me in any way then fine!!

What pisses me off the most is lots of smokers are generally bloody inconsiderate.

And another thing if smoking relieves stress why do people need to smoke so much. It's bit like drinking or smoking cannabis. In moderation it can be good for you in dealing with stress (sometimes) but other than that its an addiction pure and simple. Ok Football is stressful but so are most things in life.

what a stupid comment. smoking has been banned for a reason, more so for the health of non-smokers than smokers, although the national ban will also help cut down the number of smokers. why should non-smokers have to damage their health because some people are stupid enough to smoke?

Why are we arguing, smoking has finally been banned throughout the stadium. Happy days!

Thank heaven's this country is moving into the 21st century at last. Non smokers have had to tolerate this filthy disgusting habit for too long. Do it in your own space for God's sake.

How on Earth can people smoking at the Walkers damage your health? No smoking on a plane for example is sensible, as it's an enclosed space, but how can smoking have any effect on you out in the open?

When someones blowing smoke in your face it does have an effect. The bloke infront of me smokes and the smoke blows straight back into mine and the people's next to me faces.

Have a fag before you come in to the ground , cant you go without a ciggy for 2 hours??

It ain't nessesarily about health - Personally I have breathing difficulties in the near presence of someone smoking (indoor or out) - actually I guess that is about health!

Smoking on planes may well be banned for health reasons - but actually the primary reasons is that smoking involves setting tabaco on fire - fire which can spread - Aeroplanes on fire are not a good idea (I took a 13 hour flight yesterday)

An interesting view point - Where could I move my seat to? - The only non smoking area currently is the family stand - and I believe (though I could be wrong) that you can't just move to that stand - (And I hate kids)

As much as the half time / full time smoking písses me off - I'm not going to allow that to stop me going to games

And on the flipside of that - There will be many smokers who are now threatening to stop going to games - but the reality is that very few (if any) of them actually will

What do you do for a living Mr D?

You seem like an International man of mystery ;)

There's a bloke infront of me who has a pipe. Now that stinks and i don't really want to be breathing that in tbh, so I'm quite happy for it to be banned.

Simple solution, if you don't like the ban, give up?!?!
