Katy Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I can be narrow minded and ignorant also pig headed but i am aware of my faults and flaws and am comfortable with them, i did say that everyone who voted were part time supporters and perhaps should have said most but it was worth it to see your true colours come through. i stand by what i said IGNORANT AND A HYPOCRITE. True colours? Yeah ill show my true colours, im passionate about what I believe in, the team I support and the people I care about. I dont want my daughter breathing in smoke as she grows up and contracting a passive smoking related illness because of others, others who inflict their passion for smoking on others. If that makes me an ignorant hypocrite then bring it on!.

Katy Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Well don't take her to a smoking ZONE then, that is all i am asking for Yes, ok, smoke just stays in one place doesnt it, it doesnt travel on the air at all does it!
trueblue1 Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 yes it can be very hard at times, i have smoked for about 25 years , i have tried to give a few times but it never lasted very long before i started again, you have got to realise that it is very addictive !! it is hard to explain how it affects me but just as an example a while ago i went to a training course and could not smoke anywhere on the grounds, the course lasted all day and i didnt have a fag, but as soon as i got in my car to do the 30 min journey home i had 3 fags!! all i want is the choice at the ground !!
Strokes Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Yes, ok, smoke just stays in one place doesnt it, it doesnt travel on the air at all does it! Oh please, like the air we breathe is so focking clean anyway, like i said you aren't even prepared to entertain an alternative, just you wait until they try to ban somthing you enjoy then we'll hear you go on about the nanny state.

Yeah ok, you go off into your own little smoking heaven and puff away to your hearts content (if you can find anywhere in 2007) im not denying your right to smoke, of course im not but what I do object to is having other peoples serious illness causing habit imposed on people who chose not to be a part of it. Which part of that can you not grasp?

Never saw that coming How can you deduce that your right to smoke is greater than others right to not passively smoke thus reducing the chance of cancer? Fag or a lovely mixture of Nitrogen, oxygen carbon dioxide etc etc?

Which part of that can you not grasp? All of it, what is wrong with having a smoking stand say the east stand people that didn't smoke would have three stands to chose from and everyone that did would be able to have a fag before, at halftime and at fulltime the fact that people aren't even prepared to consider alterative's in a country that preaches tolleration as is its first word astound's me.
Phube Posted 21 February 2006 Author Posted 21 February 2006 yes it can be very hard at times, i have smoked for about 25 years , i have tried to give a few times but it never lasted very long before i started again, you have got to realise that it is very addictive !! it is hard to explain how it affects me but just as an example a while ago i went to a training course and could not smoke anywhere on the grounds, the course lasted all day and i didnt have a fag, but as soon as i got in my car to do the 30 min journey home i had 3 fags!! all i want is the choice at the ground !! It is true, but at the Royal where I work, you see people on a bitterly cold Feburary morning outside the entrances in their dressing gowns and slippers with a drip - smoking!!! It's actually quite depressing to see what a hold cigarettes can have on a person. But most nowadays started with informed choice so I have no sympathy for someone who can't even go 2 hours without their fix...
Babylon Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 What annoy's me most is all the people that voted no are part time supportes anyway smokers no how to dedicate themselves (ie travelling to every away game) to thing unlike you anti smoking toss potts So only smokers go to away games? Classic. I think you are smoking crack not fags.

Fag or a lovely mixture of Nitrogen, oxygen carbon dioxide etc etc? Sorry but i think your qualm must be with the goverment, they are the one selling a harmful and addictive substance on high taxation to people.

Maybe the country believes more in a persons right to live.
Strokes Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 So only smokers go to away games? Classic. I think you are smoking crack not fags. I get the feeling people would have more sympathy and understanding if i was.
Strokes Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Maybe the country believes more in a persons right to live. Was that from passive smoking?
Katy Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 All of it, what is wrong with having a smoking stand say the east stand people that didn't smoke would have three stands to chose from and everyone that did would be able to have a fag before, at halftime and at fulltime the fact that people aren't even prepared to consider alterative's in a country that preaches tolleration as is its first word astound's me. Its going to be banned everywhere soon, is that my fault as well? I have tolerated smokers for too long thankyou very much. I cant see why, when theres health warnings about how bad it is, non smokers have to put up with it.
Cobbo Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Was that from passive smoking? Maybe. That's the point though, you stand a chance of contracting such things through no choice of your own but because of someone elses choice to smoke. How fair is that?
Leicfox Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 So only smokers go to away games? Classic. I think you are smoking crack not fags. Sorry but that was funny

Where did i claim that this was all your fault? all i said was that you were intollerant when it suited you which you now admit.

That's the point though, you stand a chance of contracting such things through no choice of your own but because of someone elses choice to smoke. How fair is that? I'm sorry but cannot get such thing's by sitting next to a smoker, i beleive you can get contract ill health by being in smoke filled room on a regurly basis i.e a pub, but at the football in the open air you are having a laugh.
Katy Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Where did i claim that this was all your fault? all i said was that you were intollerant when it suited you which you now admit. Its a figure of speech! Im not getting into further discussions with you on this as you just cant seem to grasp the point im making and I dont have the time or the patience to keep going over it with you. And before you say im leaving it because I cant handle the debate anymore then please think again!
Leicfox Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 I'm sorry but cannot get such thing's by sitting next to a smoker, i beleive you can get contract ill health by being in smoke filled room on a regurly basis i.e a pub, but at the football in the open air you are having a laugh. Agree.
trueblue1 Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 i agree it is stupid. he can have all the ciggies he wants before the match outside the stadium and afterwards on his way home. does it taste nicer sitting on a blue seat? i have read your posts and it sounds like you think i am stupid, well lets hope you have got the guts to tell me to my face!!!
Fosse_KC Posted 21 February 2006 Posted 21 February 2006 Sorry but i think your qualm must be with the goverment, they are the one selling a harmful and addictive substance on high taxation to people. I've read this whole thread - and both sides do seem to present a reasoned argument. This is obviously something people very passionate about, and that's why neither of you will budge!! I only have issue with your line above - yes, the government are allowing the sale of a highly addictive substance, and yes it is taxed highly. But it is your choice to buy fags/tobacco whatver you smoke ... and you can't blame the government for that! I'm sure you're a very nice person though! (and yes Kat and Cobbo - so are you too! )
