How many comebacks have not materialised?

should guarantee a bumper attendance for this crucial game with City so close to prestigious silverware

I agree. This is the most important development for the club this season and it's a must-win game. Morris will provide a consistent cutting edge to the attack. Those village types had better beware!

I wonder where Chambers is? He wasn't in the the reserve squad on monday or tonights squad. I know he is taking part in a tournament with England Under 16's in 2 weeks but surely he wouldn't have joined them yet? He scored for the academt on saturday yet again and I think it's time he was given more appearances for the reserves. O'Grady and Chambers upfront with Dodds just behind would be a great partnership to try for the future.

He hasn't joined up yet 'cos i seen him at school today

Maybe England have requested that he only plays when absolutly neccessary running up to the tournament, hence only one game a week for the Academy?

Ask him tomorrow please. Also ask him if he's been promised any first team action within the near future. Thank you.

I don't intend this to be a 'let's slag off' Morris thread, in fact I feel quite sorry for the guy, fair enough he's on a good wage, probably set up for life but he's just lost more that 2 years of what is in fact a short career along with all the joy (and heart-ache) that brings.

I bet he must be sick to death of seeing and hearing the phrase 'Morris is on the comeback trail' I know I am!

So all the best Lee, with your contract up in the summer I doubt you'll make another first team appearance for us but lets hope you get the chance to play again even if you have to start at the bottom and work your way up..

Morris On The Comeback Trail

Lee Morris has been named in the Leicester City side to take on Barwell in the semi finals of the Westerby Cup on Thursday night.

Morris has been hindered by a succession of injuries since he joined the Foxes in February 2004.

But the 25-year-old striker is now back in training and will be hoping to get some much needed match minutes under his belt at Kirkby Road.

Yeah, it is getting a bit tiresome really. What was it, 2 months ago when he was going o make a comeback, played for the ressies, scored and we havent heard anything since. Its sad to say this, but it seems his football career is over at the age of 25. Sad.

Jim Smith on Morris

Quickest thing I've seen on two legs

I rememeber watching Eadie out sprint Henry once. think it was when we beat them on penos that time - Henry was at full sprint clear of the defence when Eadie decided he would have a go at catching him. Never in my life have I ever seen pace like it, henry was in shock. i think some players are just to quick for their bodies and just destroy themselves :(

Morris played a full game and fouls on him led to both Louis Dodds' goals in a 3-0 win. Morris was always a handful for Barwell's defence playing as a central striker.

He's never gonna get that position in the first team with Hume and Fryatt both fit.

Who scored the other goal? Were Dodds goals both penalties or free-kicks? Dodds is lethal.

Who scored the other goal? Were Dodds goals both penalties or free-kicks? Dodds is lethal.

First Dodds goal was a free kick from the left edge of the penalty area which he bent around the keeper and he also added a third goal from a penalty which was brilliantly blocked before Dodds scored with the follow up. He might easily have had a hat-trick because he was clear through once and lobbed the keeper but the ball carried on the wind over the bar.

Andy King scored City's other goal from a tap in and Levi Porter conducted the whole show being the only midfielder to completely master the conditions. Lee Morris could have had a hat-trick from Porter passes.

Apart from Porter, Dodds and Morris it was a stuttering City effort despite the scoreline. Barwell took Leicester apart at times with their determination down the right flank but didn't have anyone to get on the end of the resulting crosses.

Gradel disappointed and was subbed again.

*There's been a lot of undeerstandable scepticism about Morris and this was only the second time I've seen him in any long-term actiion but a) he seemed to come through alright and b) something was always likely to happen when he was on the ball.

Okay he missed his chances but he won the fouls which produced two goals because of his elusiveness and he looked far more dangerous in every way than I've ever seen Sylla look.

The pay-as-you-play idea seems sensible because Morris could be a real asset. Proper footballer if we could keep him functioning, very positive on the ball.

4 goals in less than a week for Dodds. Becoming a free-kick specialist I see! Good to hear Porter playing well again.

I was speaking to a mate today and when I mentioned that I was at the reserves last night he asked me if Chambers was involved. I told him no, but Mattock did come off the bench. He said to me that Chambers and a couple of other academy players that are 16 or under have been "warned" by the club because their school work has been put to one side for the sake of football or in the case of one of the lads, who goes to my school, suspended. Don't know how true this is but it would explain why Chambers hasn't been involved in the reserves of late.
