If so, I hope he gets back soon and starts to sort a few things out - not least, new players, an Assistant Manager, Coach etc. If he isn't - don't people think its all gone a bit quiet ?

Of course its gone quiet! Pre-World Cup is always a slack period for Prem clubs - everyone's going to have a good look at the international players on offer before putting in their £10M Stearman bids. We've only got one non-contract player. We've got no money to spend in the meantime. Nothing doing. Its entirely possible however, that the club have refused Kelly permission to leave his own office (or indeed sleep) until he's selected his own backroom staff, planned the menus for next seasons pre-match meals, acquired an entire new midfield, promoted at least 14 youth players into the first team squad and done Tim Davies' washing-up.

Matt Posted 12 May 2006 Posted 12 May 2006 Its always quiet at this time for EVERY club, Apart from releasing players, name other clubs that are currently buying players/selling players, e.t.c, Birmingham have got alot of work to do and they aren't doing too much at the moment are they? It normally gets abit busier around mid-summer/when we start having Friendlies. P.S...Don't expect alot of signings anyway, becuase I think we'll be struggling even on Free Transfer - Theres still wages to be paid then, something we can't really afford. I agree abouit needing to get an assistant manager and coaches but we still have a long summer period ahead.

The guy put everything into keeping us up by sorting out the training ground wrongs... i think the least he deserves is a bit of a summer with his family don't you?

No he isn't, we had a long chat with him after the Westerby Cup on Tuesday night. He has a week off later this month.

They're off to the Seychelles with the kids for a week, they are both really looking forward to a break and a chance to catch some rays. (I've just made that whole thing up)

Magic No. 8 Posted 13 May 2006 Posted 13 May 2006 He did say in an interview on World that there was a holiday in the pipeline. He did sort of suggest holiday in inverted comma's though! So I don't think he expects to be relaxing for very long.

He's really spoiling himself there then, 1 week off? Foolish, he needs more of a break than that. If I were the Foxes_Trust I would send him on an all inclusive 2 week break to Copacabana Beach where he can get pissed up and possibly smuggle a couple of Brazilian wizards back in to the country to sign for us. That reminds me! Foxes_Trust can you find out whether Kelly is planning on going to to see Nick Ward play in Oz? He was on trial a while back but was ill for most of the week and it was said Kelly (or his scouts) might go over and see him in the summer.
