Fox in a Box Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 Colin Calderwood has today become the new manager of Nottingham Forest... Hard luck old boy...... Unless your Brian Clough 2 then your gonna get sacked within 18months
Fox in a Box Posted 30 May 2006 Author Posted 30 May 2006 I have a good luck card at home shall would you guys like to sign it? or shall we wish him all the best on here!?
Polyphonic Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 What? You mean it's not MON? I swear I have been reading on the Forest forums that MON was a dead cert , I am as shocked as you ...
Head Honcho Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 Just imagine how pissed off you'd be if you supported Forest! If we'd have signed him instead of RK we'd be lucky to sell 5000 Season tickets. All we want now is for Notts County to have a good couple of seasons and Forest could yet again be the 2nd best team in Nottingham

Fox in a Box Posted 30 May 2006 Author Posted 30 May 2006 Oh that would be hillarious more than that funny as FCUK
Lichfieldfox. Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 Calderwood did great job at Northampton. What more can a 3rd division club expect.Good appointment. No way MON would go there unless he's started doing charity work.Good luck to the tree huggers cos we'll miss them next year when we get promoted.
Ultra Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 Anyone remember Julian clashing with Calderwood? <_< Indeed. Wasn't Calderwood brave that day? I'm sure he'll feel at home, now he's back at the copse!
NFFC Chris Posted 30 May 2006 Posted 30 May 2006 Good appointment for us,I'm glad we haven't gone for a big name for once, maybe we'll do better now!And scottish managers are generally better than English managers so hopefully in our case the trend will continue!I'm a lot more optimistic now with him in charge!Colin Calderwood's Red and White Army

NFFC Chris Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 Craig Levein, Craig Brown, Mark McGhee Sir Alex Ferguson,Daivd Moyes,Billy Davis
Stevosevic Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 Sir Alex Ferguson,Daivd Moyes,Billy Davis Dvid Moyes is over-rated, he has had as many bad seasons as he has had good. Everton are a club that should be in the top 8 of the premiership considering fanbase and reputation. More Scottish managers fail in England than succeed and Calderwood is no exception to the rule. In 6 months time all the Forest fans will be wanting him out when you are stuck in mid-table.
SystonFox Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 alex ferguson is a given - we'll give you that one. but david moyes and billy davis better managers than any english ones.... what like sam allardyce? steve mclaren? alan curbishley? rob kelly? peter taylor?(ok we hate him but hes a good coach...) you're talking out ya behind again chris. colin calderwood will not get you promoted. you are STUCK

Luke_Leicester_Lad Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 I just wish you'd appointed Levein. Is he ever going to get another job?
SystonFox Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 i spotted him at the job centre in dunfermline at the weekend. he looked like he hadnt shaven for 3 weeks.

Why wait let's compare them now! Rob Kelly Colin Calderwood
Ultra Posted 31 May 2006 Posted 31 May 2006 Is he ever going to get another job? In the SPL. That's about his level. The numerous clubs in England who are currently seeking managers aren't exactly beating a path to his door.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 June 2006 Posted 1 June 2006 How the f**k has Calderwood done a good job at Northampton?!?! The sort of money and fanbase Northampton have, they should have won the league long ago. He managed to get them promoted this year but the league was still dominated by Carlisle. If they hadn't have won something like eight games in a row at the end of the season they wouldn't have gone up. You're appointing him on the basis of those eight games not three years!! As for his transfer policy, I look forward to the League One equivalent of Eoin Jess, Ian Taylor and Sean Dyche pitching up at the City Ground. I'm sure you'll give them a lovely welcome. I'm not surprised Calderwood has bailed out at Sixfields, the new manager down here has one hell of a job sorting the contract mess out and playing a team that don't need pensions while keeping the one good youngster they have. And his formations... you do realise Northampton have basically been playing without a left-back for much of the season just gone? The teams with a decent right-winger destroyed them. If the choice is between Kelly's rigid 4-4-2 where the players all have set roles and Calderwood's play-anywhere-the-hell-you-like-cos-you-are-five-times-better-than-any-other-player-in-this-league, I know what I'd rather have. Bad decision. Never going to work.

Nope I disagree there,Northampton finished 2nd because they deserved to over 46 games and he took over nearly 3 years ago when they were struggling in league 2 and got them to the playoffs that season followed by another playoff finish the following season. And of course this season he achieved automatic promotion,so I think we have appointed him on his achievements in the last 3 years, and in the lower leagues promotion is very difficult,no matter how much money a team has!
