Ricey Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 10 men Trinidad are currently holding Sweden at 0-0 with around 10 mins left! Would be great for England if this stays as it is
City_4_Life Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 Full time 0 - 0. Well done to the Trinidad, put up a great fight in the second half to hold Sweden with 10 men. You never know maybe they might qualify for the last 16, but they deserve a big congratulations for the effort today.
Bert Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 This is what the world cup is about, shocks, suprises, effort and commitment, it was really nice to see how happy the T+T players were after the final whistle. Well done Trinidad.
Suffolk_fox Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 ****in Ace! What a performance and what a bonus for England! T&T aren't going to be a walkover on Thursday...
Tommeh Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 Now if we beat Trinadad we're through and we could put sweden out if we beat them in the last group game

Tommeh Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 well if we don't there really is something wrong, don't forget Sweden were destroyed by Rep of Ireland 3-0 and couldn't beat finland in their warm ups
Swedging Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 well if we don't there really is something wrong, don't forget Sweden were destroyed by Rep of Ireland 3-0 and couldn't beat finland in their warm ups We should be playing our B team by then - though probably good enough to beat a Sweden team that only has 2 and a half decent players.
Bert Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 If we're through by the time we play Sweden we should rest our more key players. If we can't beat Trinidad, we're not going to win the world cup. No offence to them there but there are a lot better teams out there than them.

Alexikokopops Posted 10 June 2006 Posted 10 June 2006 I was watching this with my Swedish mate. He was not too pleased to say the least.

Daggers Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 Useless fact - my wife's boss is the professional psychologist for the T&T team
SystonFox Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 good result for England. but imagine if Trinidad had sneaked a 1-0 win if that shot had been 6" lower and not hit the bar... they'd properly be up for us on thursday and theyd give it theire all and then some. we need to beat them atleast 3-0 for us to have good confidence for the last game and hopefully send Sweden home. thursday is to far away
Jay Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 The T&T put in a legendary perfromance players who play for the likes of Luton ang Gillingham gave their all against players who are paid a fortune to play for the likes of Barcelona and Juventus!! They played with pride, passion and belief!! which can be a dangerous combination, if England players showed the same desire we would win the world cup!!
shen Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 The surprise was really that Sweden were miiiiiiles better than England and Paraguay, and frankly were very unlucky all while Hislop had the game of his life... it's the only point Trinidad will get though.
Guest Gist Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 Great game even as a neutral and 0-0 I enjoyed it, I've never seen players so happy after a 0-0 draw. If only we had more money that Edwards from Luton would solve our right sided problem.
Cobbo Posted 11 June 2006 Posted 11 June 2006 It were a brilliant effort by the Trinidad lads, cracking result for them...and us to be fair.
