Came out of one of pubs too make my way to a club when about 7 or 8 men gathered outside the entrance singing '' POLSKA POLSKA '' all with there Poland shirts and scarves on. Anyway they were being very cocky and taunting everyone. So a few men started shouting abuse at them. It all went to kick off and the Police took the English away and left the Polish to roam free again! What sort of country do we live in. Twats!!

Anish Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 A few weeks ago I saw a programme on TV (may have been Tonight with Trevor McDonald) where they interviewed Polish hooligans who openly admitted they were going to the WC simply to cause trouble. They have one of the worst records in Europe even in their domestic game. Pure scum.

If it was English fans would this not have been 'they were having a laugh and showing support for their team when a group of Poles who did not like what they were doing started shouting abuse at them.' They may have been OTT but the police had to act on what they saw at the time which was a group of blokes shouting verbals in a threatening manner which is an arrestable offence. Before labeling all Poles as 'scum' I would like to see a reply from the Polish bench with their version of the incident.

So standing outside an entrance to a pub shouting at people going past is orate? Fair enough If they were elsewhere doing it but they were actually stood in the way of a public place , making people walk around them and as soon as some men tried to get in the pub they stood there shouting in there faces. Your telling me you would'nt react? Best thing about it , the Police did'nt even speak to the Polish that were actually provoking everyone that went past untill some English men gave them some back. Its all wrong.
Matt Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 the polish are scum. i really hope they go out of the world cup and we play ecuador in the second round!! haha I work with a few poles, and when I first met them they seemed very ignorant, but that was only because a) They didn't know much English and b) Must be hard coming to a different country, speaking a different language (When they have wifes and kids at home) Now after a few months I have become really friendly with them, there fine, I can have a laugh with them just like the English lads. As DavieG said don't tar them with the same brush, The only thing i'm agreeing with is "We're" becoming the minority! Apparently alot of Polish fans will be going after German fans because of rivalry and they will also be going after English fans because the KNOW they'll get a reaction of the England fans. Apparently Polish football hooliganism, is as bad if not worse than the at the hight of the English Hoolian time. P.S - It was fun winding the Poles up about there loss! But they took it well, they had a laugh about it and were fine.
Rincewind Posted 12 June 2006 Posted 12 June 2006 Doesn't sound like a very nice pub. Were there no doormen on duty? There was no need for anyone else to get involved. The reaction they got may have been exactly what they wanted. If they were actually preventing people from entering the pub this would have been noticed eventually by the pub's management. As it was on their property it would be up to them to have a word with the group and decide how serious it was. Shouting abuse and using strong language does nothing to difuse the situation it only made the situation worse. You don't know for certain that the police did not have a word with them. You were watching the police moving the other blokes on. What was their reaction to the police? Did you hear what was said to them? If it was me, no, I would not have reacted in the same way as those blokes. I would have observed then acessed the situation. If I saw any hint of trouble I would have moved onto the next pub. Drink, acting 'macho' in front of mates and lack of self-constraint are some reasons why the English have a bad name abroad. Sure other countries have their own with the same flaws but they may be a little more subtle than the bad element of the English which I believe is thankfully a minority. But when did the Sun or NotW ever consider good behavior newsworthy?

I know it's wrong to generalise and all that but Melton's allways had a massive amount of Polish people here, but recently it seems that there's thousands more. They all hang about in massive groups and are the most arrogant people ever. Hardly a weekend goes by where the aren't starting fights. But worst of all there's been a big rise in rape crime in the town recently and it's mainly down to them. The most annoying thing for me though is that they hate us English so what are they doing here in the first place?

These ****ing pikeys are an absolute disgrace, they just leave all of their sh*t everywhere, nick what ever they like. I tell you I’ve been so tempted to go down to one of their camp sites and burn all of their disgusting filth ridden caravans down to the ground.
