dandannieldanok Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 Its not Svens fault that Rooney can't keep his cool, the only fault of Eriksson was to keep faith with him!

Daggers Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 Its not Svens fault that Rooney can't keep his cool, the only fault of Eriksson was to keep faith with him! Sweetheart, let it go. After all...it's only a game
Jay Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 www.netdisaster.com thank you!!! just made a cow sh1t on ronaldos head, made some bloke pi55 on is head then shot him in the face with a gun!!! feel slightly better now!!!
Bert Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 If Ronaldo hadn't gone to the ref, Rooney wouldn't have acted in the way he did, Ronaldo was trying to get Rooney sent off and Rooney was having none of it. That was never, ever a sending off offence, a yellow card at best. As for Sven, his squad selection was diabolical what on earth was he thinking? Ian Wright summed it up perfectly about the striker situation at the end of the game.
Thracian Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 I agree with you all about Ronaldo, who quite possible contributed to the refs eventual action, but where Rooney applied his boot always left him courting a sending off, no question.
Daggers Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 As for Sven, his squad selection was diabolical what on earth was he thinking? Ian Wright summed it up perfectly about the striker situation at the end of the game. He selected a whole bunch of quality players that didn't perform. As the young people say, end of! Sometimes it swing s for you, sometimes it doesn't - and we were not good enough. We are never good enough. Everyone has expectations that exceed our ability as a national team. We fought, Hargreaves embodied that today, and that is as good as it gets. Until some of you learn to enjoy the ride you will never find satisfaction. PS. Ian Wright knows FA.
Loake Posted 1 July 2006 Posted 1 July 2006 Sven didn't get the players working well enough as a team, for me that was his main mistake.

My worry is that you have taken this long to find out.

Why should we have a constant inferiority complex in major tournaments? Greece, Portugal (twice), Holland, Turkey and the Czech Republic have all made the semi-finals of major tournaments in the past decade. So there's absolutely NO reason why that standard should be beyond our reach!
Ultra Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 Which players do you think are playing Sooty and Sweep?
Matt Posted 20 July 2006 Posted 20 July 2006 what about ronaldo? we should have a thread for him too. At work we got picture of him put it up on the pin board and got our pin-guns and started shooting.

Greece, Portugal (twice), Holland, Turkey and the Czech Republic have all made the semi-finals of major tournaments in the past decade. So there's absolutely NO reason why that standard should be beyond our reach! There is a good reason, I think, and that is that the players are not good enough. We over-hype them, we over-play them and we over-criticise them. One minute they're Gods, the next we paint them as vegetables, or donkeys or whatever. We do not coach children in skills but make them hoof balls on full length pitches and stick five year olds in full sized goals. We do not cater for the players outside of their contracted training or playing time, we do not coach them in life skills and we do not give them counseling for alcohol, drug or violent tendencies. We place a do or die attitude at the pinacle of achievements, over elaborate skills. We value blood on the head of a defender rather than holding the ball at the back or making clever runs forward. We have no structure in place, that remains in place, for the development of future players for longer than four or five years. We give obscene amounts of money to people who would otherwise pull minimum wage jobs and expect them to act intelligently. We have football clubs run by megalomaniacs who care more about their kudos or their pocket than they do about youth development. The ones that come through are then content to sign for clubs where they will sit warming benches rather than gaining experience because we flood the game with foreign players. We have a shitty league system that is split in two, with two governing bodies that agree less often than the two main political parties. Most of all, we have forty years of history of failure and, prior to just one tournament, another shedload of failure. So, someone tell me ~ exactly why do England supporters believe we deserve success?

And we had a manager that picked 2 unfit strikers, someone who has never played in the premiersip, and 1 fit striker. We had a manager that played 4 5 1 and seemed scared of the might of portugal so played defensively. We have some quality players in this country and we had a manager that didn't have a clue. Also give me pride and passionionate players over cheating divers anyday Anyway time to let it go the real football starts in 15 days
