Matt Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 Everybody's favourite Mancunian rock legends Oasis are releasing a 'best of' collection in November called Stop The Clocks. The track listing, which was handpicked by the band and features two new tracks, has just been announced as... 01. Some Might Say 02. Don't Look Back In Anger 03. D'You Know What I Mean? 04. All Around The World 05. Go Let It Out 06. The Hindu Times 07. Lyla 08. The Importance Of Being Idle 09. The Masterplan 10. Half The World Away 11. Acquiesce 12. Champagne Supernova 13. Rock 'N' Roll Star 14. Supersonic 15. Wonderwall 16. Whatever 17. Boy With The Blues 18. Stop The Clocks So what's missing? Are there any glaring omissions? Don't delay - let us know which one of the following songs also deserves to be on this Oasis compilation. Can't believe some of the classic's they've missed out mind you most of the classics come from "What's the story? Morning Glory?" or "Definetly Maybe" so suppose they don't wanna fill it with just those songs. As for the poll its between the obvious classics for me - Cigerettes And Alcohol, Live Forever, Morning Glory, Roll With It, not sure with one to pick....
Libertine Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 Live forever should definately be on there, I'd seen the list before but not noticed it wasn't there, very surprising. But as you say, they have to make sure it features tracks from throughout their career. Can't believe Lyla is on there though. :pinch:

Head Honcho Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 How can Live Forever Cigarette's and Alchohol She's Electric Morning Glory Not be on an Oasis "Best Of"
Deathside Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 Is there any need? - It's all downloadable - If you really want it Personally I can get by without

Daggers Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 I only know one person who likes Greatest Hits collections...
Knighton Matt Posted 7 August 2006 Posted 7 August 2006 Slide Away. Surely one of the best songs they've done.
nhfox Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 My favorite Oasis song is Acquiesce, so I'm pleased that made the album, but the fact that Live Forever didn't make that list is unbelievable
Deathside Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 My favorite Oasis song is Acquiesce, so I'm pleased that made the album, but the fact that Live Forever didn't make that list is unbelievable I don't think I've heard my favourite Oasis track yet
Cat Burger Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 Awwww....Let the forgotten tracks burn in musical hell. 666
Alexikokopops Posted 8 August 2006 Posted 8 August 2006 I only know one person who likes Greatest Hits collections... "You like the Beatles? What's your favourite album?" "I'd have to say... the Best Of The Beatles" Quote that bit everytime I see and B&O shop
Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 9 August 2006 Posted 9 August 2006 If they truely did a 'best of' with all the classics, it'd be about 3/4 cds long! They could never satisfy everyone, and to them the chosen tracks are obviously it, although if you've got the albums you don't need it.. Hope this don't mean theres a split on the horizon tho...
Deathside Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 If they truely did a 'best of' with all the classics, it'd be about 3/4 cds long! They could never satisfy everyone, and to them the chosen tracks are obviously it, although if you've got the albums you don't need it.. Hope this don't mean theres a split on the horizon tho... If they can only fill 3/4 of a CD then they clearly don't have enough good songs Not a split on the horizon - Just xmas...£Â£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£Ã‚£
Dunc Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Its because their contract with their record label has expired or is about to so the label are cashing in and releasing a Best of. The band have stated that they'd prefer not to do this but without any choice they have accepted on the grounds that they choose the tracklisting not the label
The People's Hero Posted 10 August 2006 Posted 10 August 2006 Its because their contract with their record label has expired or is about to so the label are cashing in and releasing a Best of. The band have stated that they'd prefer not to do this but without any choice they have accepted on the grounds that they choose the tracklisting not the label Yeah, I bet they'd 'prefer not to do it' all the way to the bank.
evs_the_fox Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 If they can only fill 3/4 of a CD then they clearly don't have enough good songs im not sure whether you were being pedantic or not but i think they meant three or four cds long. not three-quarters.
The People's Hero Posted 17 August 2006 Posted 17 August 2006 They could just put one song on because all their songs sound the same. I swear Lighthouse Family did it. Not that I've listened to their greatest hits. Did they have any hits? Actually, I like Oasis. Just want to irritate some of the illiterate fanboys.
C-man Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Don't Go Away is my favourite track by Oasis, but i'm not suprised its not on the list.
Jay Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Its because their contract with their record label has expired or is about to so the label are cashing in and releasing a Best of. The band have stated that they'd prefer not to do this but without any choice they have accepted on the grounds that they choose the tracklisting not the label so will they be giving the money to charity then as they don't want to do it? I imagine not and they will still be more than happy to accept a big fat cheque for the record sales!!
Simi Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I only know one person who likes Greatest Hits collections... lmao AP what a legend
nhfox Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I came across this classic video of Liam and Noel fighting during a performance of "Whatever." Great song, and I personally think Noel sings it well. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEtzZObbkBQ
Libertine Posted 14 September 2006 Posted 14 September 2006 Apparently this is the real tracklist. Rock 'n' Roll Star Some Might Say Talk Tonight Lyla T.I.O.B.I Wonderwall Slideaway Cigs & Alcohol The Masterplan Live Forever Acquiesce Supersonic Half The World Away Go Let It Out Songbird Morning Glory Champagne Supernova D.L.B.I.A With the two new tracks too I imagine.
Mike Hunt Smells Posted 27 September 2006 Posted 27 September 2006 Morning Glory is one of my favourite Oasis songs, should definitely be on the greatest hits! Live Forever should be there also.
