BartonFox Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Another day and another round of complete drivel
Thracian Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 The great risk is that selling our best youngsters and replacing them with the next batch (who aren't as good) would seriously weaken our team and morale. The fans would go wild, not everyone like yourself and myself watch the youngsters week in, week out and their first reactions would be pure bedlam. Crowds would drop, which could lead to all sorts. Have a word with yourself. Crowds are dropping anyway but few seem to have cared enough to back the action needed to try and change things. I remember last season getting pilloried for the very idea of playing a more attacking team even when we were safe from relegation. I said loud and clear we needed to plan then for this season but we sauntered on. I wanted home friendlies, and an up-and-at-em policy on the pitch to get some momentum going. And what did we get. A 0-0 bore draw against Real Sociedad and shit games which the fans thought had no real relevance. Who mentioned f.....g lunacy when we're trying to attact fans. We are exactly where I said we'd be through not scoring the goals I said we wouldn't get and for the reasons I said we wouldn't get em. There are now welcome signs of changes for the better but only when we've volunteered ourselves a six point handicap for no logical reason whatsoever. Does anyone now think promotion is likely this season? Possible yes but likely no because we let our three or four remaining problems go unaddressed week in week out. Some fans refuse to believe they are problems. Had they been sorted we probably wouldn't have needed this conversation at all because we probably wouldn't have been so far off the pace. So surely it is best now that we attend to the other problems that are strangling us year on year and give ourselves a better chance in future. Or do we wait for the Fairy Godfather and his supposedly magic wand. The supposedly no risk strategy. Any journey involves risk as far as I can see.

Babylon Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 Not sure how anyone could fall asleep on here today... it's a laugh a minute. Everyone has gone completely bonkers!!!!
Thracian Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 It's a simple thing to mock. But you wouldn't have any solutions to our predicament after all that, would you?.
Manwell Pablo Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 I said... I wanted... I said... What exactly do you expect any of us to do about it? unite and all shout at the management to play Gradel Dodds Sheehan and Porter, This of course will change the team around. We are where we are because we are poor, a side affect having no money due to years of bad management going back to adminstration. Four of five kids are not going to change this and selling 3 of our best players will probabley result in the football club breaking even for the first time since the prem

I don't know if that was directed at me but I'm not mocking, it's just a bit grating when you go on about "warning" us about something or other six months ago, as if we are all on the board or Manwell Pablo is the manager or Ric Flair plays left wing. There's not a lot we can do about any of these things.
smallen Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 good news as his reported interest my make someone else make a bid, like what happened at villa, plus it would mean 1 of 2 things, either kelly gets given more transfer funds or we buy the ground back. that is of course if its true Milan will be a great chairman and will finally give Rob Kelly the money to bring in players and get the foxes back to the top, where they belong
Thracian Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 No soloution is better then your soloution. Very heartening. .
BartonFox Posted 22 August 2006 Posted 22 August 2006 It's a simple thing to mock. But you wouldn't have any solutions to our predicament after all that, would you?. Your right it is simple Playing an inexperienced youth team that are so good they have less than 10 first team appearances between them is not an answer in the real world, perhaps in your LCFC Utopia, but not where it matters.

You seem to forget what's actually happened. That our preoccupation with a predomently defensive line-up of Chosen Men took us into the relation zone and, after Kelly's dramatic revival, we've since returned to a relegation rate of achievement only halfted by the recent change to a more attacking policy (and with the introduction of attackers like Low, Porter, Weso, even Hammond). Their appearances total didn't add up to much either.
