foxpodder Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 They have both failed their medicals and will be signing pre-contract agreements shortly. Wahey 2,000 posts! You can hear Ian bason from the Foxes Trust talking about Mandaric - quite open mindedly we thought - on the latest foxpodder (a review of the Macc game) at http://www.foxpodder.co.uk foxpodder
steve_wilson101 Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 Yes Did you organise that meeting with Lee Philpott and Greham Fenton? Now there's a name from the past. I remember him arriving having been talked up as the next Alan Shearer at Blackburn. I used to work in his local, the Coach and Horses in Markfield and he often seemed to be in there and never seemed to be on the pitch. Martin didn't make too many bad signings but not a great one there I;m afraid. Anyway - can you bring back Brian Carey too please.
ithuriel Posted 23 August 2006 Posted 23 August 2006 if you want to bring brian carey back then youll have to bring back the other three horseman......plodders ....of the apocalypse , nicky mohan , gary coatsworth and richard smith
The People's Hero Posted 24 August 2006 Posted 24 August 2006 Gary Coatsworth! Good shout. The 'Droyd and Ian Marshall are musts in this comedy reunion....
Lester LXXIV Posted 24 August 2006 Posted 24 August 2006 Gary Coatsworth! Good shout. The 'Droyd and Ian Marshall are musts in this comedy reunion.... If 'Stix' is coming back then you MUST include the 'Gee' cos Ormondroyd and Gee were a package!!
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 August 2006 Posted 24 August 2006 Whatever happened to Mark Robins? Had a season with Burton Albion Season before last. Think he retired after that. Fenton was at Blyth Spartans last time I herd, he's only 33
Jay Posted 24 August 2006 Posted 24 August 2006 Whatever happened to Mark Robins? he's the head of youth at Rotherham United
Polyphonic Posted 24 August 2006 Posted 24 August 2006 Bah I want David Lowe back ... legend ! (I saw Richard Smith at McDonalds in the food court at fosse park a few months ago ... he looks seriously rough !)
julian_joach Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 what happend to the whole thing about madaric taking over, in the end? never actually heard any more about it, do ya reckon it was load of bull coming from news of world
Louise Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 Portsmouth chairman Mandaric: No Gaydamak problems tribalfooball.com - August 29, 2006 Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric insists there's been no fall-out with new club owner Sacha Gaydamak. There has been speculation that Mandaric's exit from Fratton Park has been delayed because he has not been paid all of the £32m Gaydamak agreed to hand over for the club. Mandaric told The News: "Sacha and I have an agreement between us, and I don't think it's right for me to discuss it in public. "All I can say is that he is living up to his commitments and doing what he promised. I have no complaints whatsoever. "I'm very happy with our relationships. There are no issues. "He's very honourable and there are no problems at all." Mandaric was in Slovenia last night rather than watching Pompey at Middlesbrough. He said: "My days are numbered at Pompey. I want to make a clean break and say goodbye." http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=9631 Looks like he'll be out of Pompey soon...
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 .......... I think he'll be there for a bit longer yet.
Bluefoxtim Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 yeah. I saw an article a few months ago sying he will definately be there for the next season (this one)
Nationwider Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 I've heard that Milan is closer than we think to tapping up City. Apparently a couple of old faces have had a word in his ear about us. As Barton says, the truth is out there - or at least there is more than one credible link between him and us. Could be a load of cack, of course, so I'll not embarass myself further.

Despite the majority thinking he is doing a good job Mandaric will want a higher profile manager who he believes will take Leicester to the Prem. He may well succeed but the likes of Kelly will be left by the wayside
Jon the Hat Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 Let's keep this thead alive with idle speculation alone! We can do it if we try!
Mort Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 if it does happen dont expect Rob Kelly to be manager for too long. Despite the majority thinking he is doing a good job Mandaric will want a higher profile manager who he believes will take Leicester to the Prem. He may well succeed but the likes of Kelly will be left by the wayside It'd probably be the case that RK would be moved on by a minted new owner, he a competant and fairly decent manger but it's far from steller and if you had the cash you'd want your new investment to have the best prospects for sucess... that said he'd probably last out the season coz any take-over would probably not happen till the new year anyway, if he got us to the play-offs he might manage to keep his job, but all in all i think any big time investor would seek a proven, experienced manger...Alan Curbishley a possibile target? Any significant changes would have to wait till the summer after this season... as it is this is still wild speculation, be happy if it happens but I'm not expecting a whole lot

Manwell Pablo Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 Those credible links being???? None of your bee's wax. You should be telling us about this not the other way round.

It probably is, and you shouldn't.
Ultra Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 None of your bee's wax. You should be telling us about this not the other way round. Yeah, like the Trust should be aware of EVERY rumour surrounding our club that's heard in a pub, or posted on a website...
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 August 2006 Posted 29 August 2006 Yeah, like the Trust should be aware of EVERY rumour surrounding our club that's heard in a pub, or posted on a website... Stop and think Ultra That statement was not suppouse to be taken literally. The FT should be informing us about the take over (if one exists) in general, not us informing them.
Thracian Posted 30 August 2006 Posted 30 August 2006 if it does happen dont expect Rob Kelly to be manager for too long. Despite the majority thinking he is doing a good job Mandaric will want a higher profile manager who he believes will take Leicester to the Prem. He may well succeed but the likes of Kelly will be left by the wayside Apart from some doubtful company among his Chosen Men I'd like to know precisely what Kelly is doing wrong and exactly what the likes of Alan Curbishley (as mentioned by Mort) will be likely to do that Kelly can't. So far Kelly has saved us from freefall and a genuine threat of relegation. He has now, after donating our opposition a six point start for no reason that ever seemed logical, lifted us into the top half of the table. Not only that but the sort of team we might field now is far better than that which Levein put out and our prospects therefore look rosier. By bringing on the likes of Porter, Wesolowski, O'Grady, Kisnorbo, he is increasing the value of our squad almost daily. And he's managing to do it on sweet FA. Curbishley might have done okay in his familiar London backyard but he's no MON or Sir Alec Ferguson and I don't remember Charlton as being particularly attractive to watch - in fact I seem to remember us turning them over quite comfortably. Curbishley might well produce a more attactive team with some magnate's millions but equally so might Kelly or RicFlair or The Singh. Anyone can hire a group of mercenaries to win a battle. But, they'll be soon gone when a bigger purse is waved in front of their eyes. There's signs of something being built at Leicester, a team that's worth having and a team that's worth being proud of in a way that a Mandaric-type travelling circus will never be. I'm plainly in the minority but I don't subscribe to selling our soul and transferring our debts to some foreign speculator who simply sees us as a potentially lucrative plaything. And then having to abandon what is really worth finishing! Exactly how are players like Stearman, Weso, Porter, O'Grady, Gradel, Dodds worse than some of these foreign all-but-unknowns that are turning up and giving free penalties away for clubs like Blackburn? It makes me sick. Build on solid ground and build something that will last instead of something that will fall apart at the seams come the first sign of wet weather and which will weaken our own game in the long run. Mandaric's Men will be no more Leicester than the Abramovich rent-a-crowd at Chelsea. And what may look like a carnival is really a cancer that's chewing the life out of football. It's an illusion. It's not a real "match". The crowd is more like the masses of Londoners who used to turn up for executions. They are there for the carnival atmosphere, the sideshows but because there's a hanging every fortnight they'll soon grow blase. Chelsea isn't Chelsea. It is just a rented organism that is occupying its body and could as easily be wearing the colours of MK Dons. There's nothing to care for, nothing that's "family". It's just a version of the Harlem Globetrotters. Canned entertainment on hire for the amusement of corporate guests who like to be seen anywhere and in the company of anyone that's awash with money. Ironically, it's stinks of cheapness really. In fact it's so cheap that good men like Rob Kelly can be cast aside - for a few pieces of silver as a thank you for what's amounted to saving our club's life. And fans moan when a player or a manager lacks loyalty. Talk about shameless hypocrisy.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 August 2006 Posted 30 August 2006 Oh look, it's the Rob Kelly Fan Bus. Where were you two weeks ago?
