He has said however that the club and its supporters will never be far away from him wherever he goes in the future and that he will keep in touch with Fratton Park following his departure. The sale of Portsmouth Football Club was recently completed with Alexandre Gaydamak taking full control. Milan Mandaric, who brought the club out of administration in 1999 and propelled Pompey to the Premier League in four years, was given the role of non-executive Chairman but has decided that his chapter has now ended with a new one already begun. Speaking of the decision he said: "My last match as Chairman will be against Bolton and though it will be a very emotional occasion for me I will leave immensely satisfied and happy about what I have achieved and whose hands I leave this club in. "Already Alexandre Gaydamak has made his own impressive mark on the club which I fully expected and applaud. "It is now right that a man who is fiercely committed to the interests of Portsmouth F.C. and its fans should be allowed to pen his own exclusive chapter as he takes things to the new heights I know he will achieve.
