If you actually read those comments attributed to him, they are not dismissive in the slightest.

Just going by what I saw on the news channel this morning mate, haven't seen or heard any comments other than the mini-story on the SSN bottom screen thingy

Excellent. I like it when we get talked about. Fed up with hearing about Chelski and Manure's fantastic starts to the season.

We need much more of it t be honest. Keep the club in the limelight and get people talking about it. It's like a sleepy backwater at times. And God knows how much exposure is being lost because of the Reserve/Academy matches being hidden from view. In these days of national websites it's ridiculous. The club has got to start buzzing.

Whatever the outcome with MM it is good that we are in the News for once and it might mean other businessmen will look into taking over.

They might think well if he is interested then they must be worth looking into.

Anyway who is the current owner?

is this thread set to "repeat" .....

I think all that CAN be said has been surely.. :ph34r:

I love this thread. It sums up football messageboards on the internet. We have to talk about SOMETHING and in my humble opinion we've actually got some decent discussion between passionate fans off the back of something that might never have been going to happen anyway.

It SURE beats ANOTHER one of those POINTLESS threads ABOUT HOW the OFFICIAL website isn't VERY GOOD.

Not mentioning any names, you cretin.

OK let me clarify...

Secretly we all want to hear that there is something happening to our club, positive or perceived negative..it makes life a bit more zesty.

Really? :whistle:

I could happily live a lifetime without another La Manga-type scandal...

Don't worry. They get the messages expressed in here. Whether they are prepared to listen or act on them is another matter - and not everyone agrees with any particular message- but it all gets back.

Not sure of that?.

Well I could suggest an experiment which would prove it but I won't. It would be easiest just to take my word.

Lets start a rumour.... "Thracian to buy out LCFC before Milan Mandaric. Fans against takeover due to concerns over asset stripping of top players".

Stop talking sense! :) BTW, does this thread set a record for the most posts in the shortest period of time?

So you're telling me that the vast majority of ideas and opinions on here find their way to the men at the top?? Hmm I'm not so sure though, there'd be a little indication that they were listening if they were finding out some of the views from here surely. Wouldn't be wise to completely ignore the fans would it?

Just a hypothetical scenario for right now. Sell Fryatt, Stearman, McCarthy.

Replace with Dodds/O'Grady, Kenton/Maybury and McAuley/Nils.

Income £4.5m.

Pay off £3.5 million capital from the ground as an extra unscheduled payment, reducing the capital debt and the future interest payments. Retain £1m for, say, two purchases.

I don't think the side would be irretrievably weakened. Fryatt is the key and his loss would be a blow but I don't see Hume/Fryatt as the ideal long term partnership because they is no aerial presence which means we'll never get 10 goals a season from set pieces. We're too limited.

Dodds is a similar striker to Fryatt (and likely to be just as good) but if we could get a big aerial player to go with Hume/Dodds/O'Grady then McAuley's introduction as replacement for McCarthy (even Kisnorbo's getting in there now) would give us a reasonable threat in the air from set pieces which we presently lack.

Target for the season: top 12 finish with a team reading:

Logan/Henderson;

Kenton/Maybury, McAuley/Kisnorbo/Nils, Nils/Sheehan;

Low/Gradel, Hughes/Johnson, Wesolowski/Williams, Porter/Tiatto;

Hume/Dodds/O'Grady/Hammond. Plus two new signings.

Twenty one players. Good balance. Players coming through who will be worth something.

Dodds likely to be just as good as Fryatt???

Give me strength.

Heh, I love the drama.

Possibly I was the only person to hear the MM interview on RL? (It'll probably be repeated in the 1pm news). He said exactly what is being quoted everywhere, and he sounded rather annoyed doing it as well, although wouldn't you be talking to Barber? Got the impression it isn't going to happen any time soon.... but lets all pretend it is and keep talking about it!

I certainly think that this will highlight some of the problems of the current board to the supporters, especially if MM does invest in a different Championship team.

So could I.

If I posted a piece of VERY juicy gossip I heard at the weekend, I'm sure the powers that be would appear within seconds demanding the removal of that story.

I can't take anymore of Thracian's muck he's been spreading on here over the past few days. I used to have utmost respect for him because he believes in what he says and amongst the vast essays he writes are some good points. But this selling players off and replacing them with unknown kids who haven't managed to break in to one of the worst Leicester teams in history is highly dangerous and optimistic.

I rate Dodds, I rate several of our academy players but if we were to sell some of our best young players and only replaced them with our own youngsters who don't look ready then i'd be seething.

Thracian would also be moaning no doubt, should this happen and us lose each week. The problem we'd then have is a few quid in the bank but then we'd face the challenge of attracting players to a severely struggling club and if teams know we are desperate and have a few quid then we'd have to pay over the odds for players who probably wouldn't be any better than what we'd had in the first place.

True but then again he makes some points that would suggest he is as mad as a hatter.

I knew his posts would get wacky after Levi got into the first team. I shouldn't worry normally service should be resumed when Tiatto takes his place back.

Ric, we've averaged less than a goal a game for our last seven League matches and during that time, and a little longer, have collected points at a rate which would get us relegated! That is a fact.

Where's this great risk you talk of?

We need to buy our stadium. We need to get the noose from around our necks. Inaction is not going to help.

As I've said elsewhere the team I outlined would score more goals than last season's not counting whoever we might purchase with the surplus £1m.

Of course I wouldn't want us losing every week. But what really makes me moan is not trying hard enough to win and at least that sems to be changing.

We cannot keep all our best players. We are already six points off the pace and the statistics of the first paragraph make a nonsense of the idea that we'll get promotion this year. If it changes I'll be delighted but where's the evidence?

So what can we do? We can try to get rid of the noose and have a better chance in the future. We could even keep £1.5m of the selling fees. Some managers could do wonders with that.

The great risk is that selling our best youngsters and replacing them with the next batch (who aren't as good) would seriously weaken our team and morale. The fans would go wild, not everyone like yourself and myself watch the youngsters week in, week out and their first reactions would be pure bedlam. Crowds would drop, which could lead to all sorts.

Have a word with yourself.
