Taken - dont bother

One of the worst movies I've seen in years. Liam Neeson as a family dad going crazy, chasing criminals? Nowt, won't work. Not even with a FBI background. Cheesy dialogue, stiff action, terrible story, awful script.

Absolutely forgettable.

Cheers again. Garden State is one of my favourite movies.

Really been wanting to see American Beauty. I'll check all these oot.

Two more I've just remembered (on a more romantic but still good track):

Once (really, really good!)

Lost in Translation (well I really liked it!)

Charlie Wilson's War amused me. You sit there grinning at his cheek and celebrating his little victories and then you stop and think: "Hmm...."

I like the fact that the "Commies" were demonized... But it does leave you thinking "Will they EVER learn???"

Getting Timothy Spall to play Peter Taylor (Clough's sidekick, not the fcukwit who managed us) was an inspired move.

Not sure about Michael Sheen though. The trailer shows him straying too much into Mike Yarwood territory.

But the book captures the sleaze and petty jealousies of the 70s perfectly, and it'll be fascinating to see whether the film manages to do the same.

Fine by me!

Lost in Translation is my favourite movie ever by the way. :giggle:

Not seen Once though. All these suggestions sound great, thanks.

Just finished watching Once.

Liked it. Bit of a flat ending though, for me.

Great stuff overall.

That's Britain/Ireland for ya! No Hollywood here!

Nah, not yet. Have a load to watch, and not just from your recommendations.
