Smudge Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 Trouble is there's clear evidence to show that not everyone wants to go down the young/hungry/attacking route. They think it's risky. There's a simple way of testing what route most folks wish for and that's by using voting process. You will soon find out if you have a mandate from the proletariat. "Rise Up Brothers"................"and sister's Reg"

Foxes_Trust Posted 20 September 2006 Posted 20 September 2006 It should be over the course of the season. So if you renew in May, you start paying from August and it has to be paid by the following April/May when the season finishes. Perhaps they could charge 2% more if they need to to cover costs, etc. Afraid cash flow wise that won't work for the club. They need season ticket revenue to finance through the summer, when there is no matchday income. However it is possible they will follow what Norwich did this season & start renewals for the 07/08 season in February, where you do pay over a number of months, these payment would then run until after the season has started, but the bulk of the money will have gone to the club by the summer, so the cashflow is maintained.
Thracian Posted 20 September 2006 Author Posted 20 September 2006 That's all we need, another fans vote. Don't worry it's not my scene. I'm much more of a cynic than a democrat. I've no idea how such a vote would go but even substantial majorities have been shown to be wrong and, whatever the rights or wrongs, the club will do as it chooses.

The People's Hero Posted 21 September 2006 Posted 21 September 2006 i had one of these phonecalls and then got offered a "bargain 6-match package", where i can pick 6 out of the next 12 matches and pay £99. I dont think he realises that working in the pub industry and not being available saturdays ruled me out of attending pretty much every game this season... Maybe I'm a bit out of touch.. and I was certainly surprised at the amount I've paid to go at home this season, but is 6 for £99 really that good an offer? I reckon something like 6 for £65 is about right. It guarantees you the £65 and it's not like those seats are going to be used otherwise! I suppose they don't want to step on STH's toes.

Its a fine line, but their priority should be filling seats IMO.
Daggers Posted 21 September 2006 Posted 21 September 2006 I suppose they don't want to step on STH's toes. Surely no ST holder would care as long as tickets aren't being flogged off for less than the cost of a ST game. I wouldn't

Babylon Posted 21 September 2006 Posted 21 September 2006 Because... a house is more important and more costly than ever. I would rather piss any spare cash up the wall with my mates, it's more fun than watching Leicester. Plus i've had three holidays this year so i've spent a good old wedge on that... i'm in Lanzerote as I type this. PS.. the weather is great

Somehow I can't see it working...don't know how many fans are willing to renew in February not to mention that we'll have no idea what league we're in (assuming the board has any ambition to get us promoted while this scheme runs) so how can they set prices? Cash flow wise it's not a huge deal; honestly how much of the clubs money comes from people who buy season tickets in installments? To finance through the summer just budget better through the winter. That's a ridiculous argument. This makes the board sound fairyl amateruish to me.
SydneyFC Posted 22 September 2006 Posted 22 September 2006 I haven't even got enough money to get to England... The time will come though.
The People's Hero Posted 22 September 2006 Posted 22 September 2006 Yesterday... 'Hello is that Mr..... ' 'Yes it is' 'This is LCFC ticket office/enquiries' (or something) 'Okay' 'We'd like to tell you about some good offers and also enquire about if there is any specific reason you haven't had a ST for the last 2 years after having one for the 3 previous' 'Yes - I moved to Maidstone' 'Oh really? So you moved out of the area?' 'Yes - You've got my address cos you've been sending me stuff. And you're calling on a Maidstone number' 'Right - but you came to a game earlier this season, that's odd' 'Why? 'Well, you live in Maidstone?' Clearly the ticket office don't see why people should travel more than a few miles to see us play! Goes to show though, they're even calling people who have had a ST as far back as 2 seasons ago now. Having said that, I have been a member and attended games in the meantime.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 September 2006 Posted 22 September 2006 Yeah I last had a season ticket in the 2003/4 season and still got the call. They'll be ringing dead people soon and demanding to know why they haven't renewed their season tickets.
The People's Hero Posted 22 September 2006 Posted 22 September 2006 No offer of free tickets was forthcoming however. And I did mention that I bought about 7 or 8 for the Ipswich game. She was unmoved.

By Sunday I'll have been to 5 games this season (3 Northampton, 2 Leicester) and won't have paid a penny for tickets.
