Mark Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It was crazy them giving him a 4 year contract just a month ago when things were hardly going well for them, that'll be a mighty big pay off.
lildave3 Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Not surprised, you lose 4-0 to Colchester i'd be ashamed to show my face again.
Head Honcho Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It beggars belief! One month into a four year contract and they sack him. The fans should be screaming for the head of the numpty who gave him it.
davieG Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Well let's hope for them that they can afford it or that he has a clause in his contract that says he can be sacked without much compo. Any new manager will be restricted straight away budget wise. These poor board decisions should result in them resigning as part of the sacking.
Maybes Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 hahahahahaha he had it coming though. Some shocking results recently. I sure he doesnt really care with that "beefy" contract.
Newcastle_Fox Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Cant say I am suprised, wonder how the Sheff Weds fans are that came on gloating on here after they had beaten us to Kenny Lunt and were gonna storm the Championship are now
Guest Gist Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Well losing 4-0 to colchester is enough to see anyone get sacked I wonder who will replace him?
lcfc_jme Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Well losing 4-0 to colchester is enough to see anyone get sacked I wonder who will replace him? Alan Curbishley with Milan Mandaric buying them out
NFFC Chris Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Wednesday fans were all behind Sturrock still defeat the trashing and are furious at the chairman. He's done a reasonable job there but ambition is a filthy word to chairman John Allen. They heading back to league one for sure now.
lookwhaticando Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 That was real clever - giving him a four year contract then sacking him soon after. That has to rate as one of the most ridiculous decisions taken by a board this year. I can't work out why they gave him 4 years to begin with! He hadn't done anything quite so spectacular that he was deserving of four years. Unless Sheffield Wednesday's board has such low targets.
Libertine Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It beggars belief! One month into a four year contract and they sack him. The fans should be screaming for the head of the numpty who gave him it. They are. Most are furious with the decision and will be expressing their feelings at the next home game.
Ultra Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 It was crazy them giving him a 4 year contract just a month ago when things were hardly going well for them, that'll be a mighty big pay off. I reckon even OUR board wouldn't be that dumb...
Smudge Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 I saw him being interviewed by Sky Sports after the Colchester game and he implied that heads would roll. He didn't indicate that it would be his head though :pinch: He was quite vitriolic towards his players, never a good thing to publicly slag off your team methinks. Despite where we were in the table, Rob Kelly would never do that IMO.
Tommeh Posted 19 October 2006 Posted 19 October 2006 Well losing 4-0 to colchester is enough to see anyone get sacked I wonder who will replace him? I'd put money on big Ron
Brad_SWFC Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 It's an absoloute disgrace what Mr Allen did yesterday, and he as truely shot himself in the foot. The problems of our football club are much deeper than the team, but behind the scenes we are a total fvck up. There as been a protest organised against the board before Saturdays game, and there will be consistant singing of Mr Sturrocks name throughout the game. In my opinion and most other wednesday fans opinions, the wrong man as gone. The man that's gone seems to be the one out of that clueless lot in Hillsborough that really gives a fvck about our club. In the club statement it says that he as been sacked bacause of the clubs poor league position even though we have strengthened throught the summer. I am sorry but have we fvck strengthened through the summer, we have bought in 4 permanent signings and a loan singing which is the keeper Brad Jones. We let go of about 7 or 8 players including the popular Jon-Paul McGovern, which wasn't Sturrocks decision yet Mr Allens. At the end of the day how can we have strenghtened when we haven't even got a proper first choice keeper on the books. This once big and proud club is now a mediocre club, languishing in the lower reaches of the Championship, and its all because of poor managment off the field over the years. This man (Mr Allen) is ruining our football club, and we want him OUT !

Brad_SWFC Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 We WILL be relegated this year unless change at the top. Sturrock as had his hands tied behind is back, from day one. And he as worked miracles to firstly get us up, and then to keep us up, with lets be honest a very average league 1 squad. Allen OUT!
DBEightyFive Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 Signs 4 year contract - sacked after one month - gets £150k compensation!! Not bad deal...for Sturrock anyway
Brad_SWFC Posted 20 October 2006 Posted 20 October 2006 Signs 4 year contract - sacked after one month - gets £150k compensation!! Not bad deal...for Sturrock anyway Trust me, Sturrock is gutted about this deal, going on what Blair (his son) as said. I think he genuinly wanted to get this once big club back in the big time. Sturrock had a special relationship with us the fans, he was one of only three really that got on with the fans so well, the other two being Jack Charlton and Big Ron. We have had success with the likes of Trevor Francis and Howard Wilkinson, but these never had the relationship with the fans. This is one of the biggest mistakes that we will make, and us as fans will not tolerate it from the cvnt upstairs any more. This as really pissed me off, and upset me and i feel ashamed to be associated with Wednesday. We are the laughing stock of english football.
