Daggers Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6.5 : Did fine considering he had more passes to his feet than any of the front players! Stearman 6.5 : Poor first half for him, better in the second McCarthy 8 : Excellent performance, tackles timed to perfection...he won us the game MOM Kenton 7 : Accredited himself well against the giants he was having to beat to headers Johansson 6.5 : accomplished Tiatto 8 : Inspired, five shots on goal - best game he's had this season Hughes 8 : By far his best game of the season (and I don't rate him) Johnson 7 : Absent at the beginning, commanding towards the end Sylla 7 : Worked hard, fought for balls Hume 8 : Tireless, sought out the game as it didn't come to him Hammond 4 : Last start for a while I reckon Fryatt 7 : Showed enough to begin on Saturday, eclipsed Hammond's star The Officials: First half 9 : Second half 1 The Weather: 3 Needs to raise its temperature The Ticket Office: 10 Brilliant work off the ball The History Boys: 9 Excellent filler between ticket exchange and kick off Knighton Matt: 4 Poor early first half exit leading to Stoke's goal I thought we were pretty poor tonight, we looked devoid of any attacking play until Stoke scored. The midfield apart from Tiatto was completely non existent throughout the entire 90 minutes, again. Mind you, decent result I thought Kelly got it spot on in the second half. He went in at half time with a choice of leaving it to the counter attack and nicking a result or being more aggressive and taking the win. 3pts4awin Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 I dont think he was mate. When he first came here he got by players. He also didn't give the ball away all the time. he got by players until october, then he was gash. i think the other players didnt help his game. i was very surprised he started recent games, especially after the gaffer singned josh low, spose that shows the character of the gaffer, not a levien that he feels he has to play certain players. so looking forward to sheff wed away. weso will be atleast benchable, fryatt is back, hume is on fire, macualey is back, kiso should be in contention? welsh was on the bench tonight, we didnt even need him, yet hes been very good lately. porter is on the brink of a return. o'grady must be close to returning. what a great championship squad we have. Thracian Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6.5 (Just did his job solidly. Kicking was indifferent.) Stearman 7 (Involved, Played his part in limited a good Stoke attack to sod all really) McCarthy 9.5 (What an awesome show of determnination from a bloke with a smashed nose. Contested everything and helped limit a good attack to a few crumbs). Kenton 7 (Decent support for McCarthy. Efficiency personifield) Nils 7 (Again excellent defensively. Slipped into his old hoof habits as the second half progressed) Sylla 5.5 (Contributions but not impressive. People want to give him encouraging marks but he doesn't deserve them) Hughes 7 (Great goal through supporting on the edge of the box as people have implored him to do. Committed. Busy. His best game for ages) Johnson 6 (Didn't notice him much and when I did he was not particularly impressive) Tiatto 8 (Terrific first half and woud have got more if he hadn't faced later on. Shots, quick and accurate passes, good tackles without giving away daft free-kicks) Hammond 6.5 (Still suffering a lack of decent through balls but worked contributed to some good moves and was always committed and threatening). Hume 9 (Another great goal to make it 7 now for the season and an unyielding display of commitment and determination) Sub: Fryatt 5 (Little chance to shine. Couldn't understand not playing three strikers as the main two wilted) Kelly: 8.5 (Lots of pluses and very few minuses. Got so much out of his side and prevented Stoke from playing to achieve an excellent result)

Lester LXXIV Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6 - saves good but kicking poor at times, although to be fair he had about 1 backpass to him every 3 minutes! Stearman 8 - attacked well and looked dolid throughout, back to his best hopefully McCarthy 7 Kenton 7 Nils 7 (the defence did very well and all looked comfortable throughout, but for a slightly fortuetous goal they'd have had a clean sheet. Not bad against a team who have hit 5 in ther previous game. Hughes 8 MOTM - huge improvement, picked the ball up from deep and looked to get attacks started. Seemed to take more responsibility too, and scored the vital goal Johnson 7 - showed the fight and determinstion that he's lacked since coming here, also kept the ball much better. Much improved keep it up Sylla 6 - seriously lacking movenment and rarely shows for the ball won the ball back well and put some tackles in though Tiatto 7 - showed fight and passion from start to finish Hammond 5 Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuume 8 Subs Fryatt 7 - good to see him back was much more effective than Hammond. Expect him to start v sheff wed. Logan 6 Stearman 6 McCarthy 8 Kenton 6 Johansson 6 Tiatto 7 Hughes 5 Johnson 5 Sylla 5 Hume 7 Hammond 4 Fryatt - 5 I thought we were pretty poor tonight, we looked devoid of any attacking play until Stoke scored. Sooper Steve's shin Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6 - Not his greatest game - in fact, probably his worst since he came into the side. Looked like he'd taken kicking lessons from Henderson early on! Stearman 7 - Reasonably good display, getting back his confidence now. McCarthy 8 - Man of the Match. A smashed cheeckbone didn't stop him winning balls in the air, made some important tackles too. Kenton 6 - Reasonably solid on the ground, but didn't win a header and looked out of position a number of times. Johansson 6 - One or two good tackles, but also caught out one or two times. Still not a left back. Sylla 6 - Almost gave them an injury time equaliser by dallying on the ball and losing possession. Did that too often, not enough commitment. Johnson 5 - Unlike many, I've tended to see the good side of Johnson, but felt he had a poor game. Showed he is capable of making cruching tackles, but let himself down with distribution. Hughes 7 - Gets the mark for his goal, but lightweight and doesn't show enough. Tiatto 7.5 - Not afraid to shoot, runs until he drops and always tried to make up for any errors. Close call with McCarthy for MOM. Hume 7 - Committed and tireless as usual, always capable of flashes of skill, good finish for the goal. Hammond 6.5 - The usual Elvis story - good running, let down by his speed of thought and close control. Sub: Fryatt 6 - Good crowd reaction, he tried to spark something but not really given enough time. Showed one or two nice touches though.
Lichfieldfox. Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 5 - Poor kicking and came out of box twice on kamikazee runs and nearly c**ked it up Kenton 6.5 - Very solid McCarthy 7 - Commanding in that halloween mask Stearman 6.5 - Was he trying to impress O'Neil? Good 2nd half Nils 7.5 - Skills back to his best Tiatto 8 - Stunning first half in 1 man midfield Hughes 5.5 - Where was he? Good goal however Johnson 5.5 - Played like had a sick note first half, better second Sylla 5.5 - Looked lazy most of time but got into it more. can deliver a quality dead ball Hume 7.5 - Very lively great crosses but unable to be in 2 places at once! Hammand 4.5 - Looked totally wasted and needs a rest, gone from MOM to flop of match Fryatt - 6 Looked good for short time on pitch Ref 4 Terrible decisions time and time again too whistlehappy and was he born in Stoke? City Fan Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6 - Dreadful kicking, not much else to do Stearman 5 - Worst game for a long while - throw ins were abysmal McCarthy 7 Kenton 6 - Nowhere near the standard of McAuley and Kisnorbo Johansson 6 Sylla 5 - Rubbish Hughes 7 Johnson 6 - Is in the way more than anything, rubbish player Tiatto 7 Hume 8 - MOTM - seems to win the ball regardless of how many opposition players he is battling against. Hammond 4 - Shite.
The Don Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan - 6 - not a lot to do really. Stearman - 6 - played well but didn't do a great deal going forward or at the back. Skills- 6 - see stearman Paddy - 8 - everywhere kenton - 6 - had a decent game but needed paddy's intervention a few times. Sylla - 6 - looked interested in defence and attack, keeps on going inside all the time Tiatto - 7 - busy, drifted inside too much, suported the attack well Hughes - 8 - sublime passing and the link man whose goal gave him the mom Johnson - 7 - stuck to his job and gave hendrie no ball whatsoever Hume - 7 - tried hard but isolated Elvis - 5 - in duberry's pocket they also sat deep to negate his pace. poor but willing Fryatt -7 - class the moment he came on. his control leading to the 2nd goal was immense - no other leicester player could have done that
Durnerz Posted 1 November 2006 Share Posted 1 November 2006 Logan 6 - Some dodgy kicks but looked to start attacks from the back in the first half getting the ball moving quickly. Stearman 7 McCarthy 7 - Good to see him back, had a job on with Kenton in handling their giants up front. Kenton 7 - Pace rescues him when he loses out to strikers but timed his tackles well. Johansson 7 - Good performance, always an outlet on the left and took his time, played decent balls into the channels. Sylla 5 - Average, some neat touches and a cross or two but nothing too productive. Hughes 6 - Looked asleep first half, needed his goal badly. Johnson 5 - Doesnt do an awful lot, the only two decent tackles he put in that idiot of a ref gave fouls for. Tiatto 8 - Man of the match. Always looking to take players on, every shot went on target and he got out to the wing quickly when out of position, a major improvement. Hume 7 - Neat touches and a good finish, keeps hold of the ball well. Hammond 4 - Didnt move out into the channels often enough to provide an option, didn't challenge for headers, was a mile away from Hume when he went up to challenge, in general a poor performance. Fryatt 6 - Decent touches and looks sharper than before but not given enough minutes.

I think we must both be biased as each other in respect of Hammond and Fryatt! I don't think either had any significant effect. Both tried hard enough with no service once again. It's just that Hammond had longer to try than Fryatt. Hammond even had a shot at the start of the second half but I'm not sure Fryatt did. The only case either really made last night or on Saturday was for Dodds. But we now have an eight match unbeaten run to consider and that's not insignificant.
