There's only one Martin George, one Martin George

Recommended Posts

So far you haven't said a thing...aside from declaring your undying love for Martin George ~ but he's married so it's only going to end in tears.

MG is a PR*CK !!!!!! I must of sent him 50 letters when he was in charge, all bangin on about the lack of investment, how he had all this money and would not put a penny into lcfc, in the end he wrote and said "If I felt so strongly why didn't I sell my own house and put that into Leicester City".... ANOTHER so called Leicestershire based muliti millionarie who sniffs around LCFC and won't put his hand in his pocket. Nothing but contempt and bitterness for the creature.

It might be interesting to hear Martin George's comments before being so judgemental.

I find your post labelling MG a pr*ck highly ironic.

I have often thought whether I would be happy to plough millions of pounds (if I had it) into Leicester City and do you know what, I wouldn't. If I had earnt millions of pounds, I would hate to see underperforming players with self-inflated egos, driving ferraris into match days, knowing that that is where money for my family is going.

Then to top it, should we have a bad run, being called upon to put more money in (and possibly abused if I don't).

That's why it's best to have full control when you want to invest in the club.

That way you can do something about the under-performing fluff that riles you so. ;)

Give the kids a shout, they're cheap, they don't have Ferraris (some of them are too young to drive even). lol

Disagree with you on this one.

We's got a group of young players that are still learning the trade.

I dont think we suffer from self-inflated egos.

Also, i doubt that any of the current LCFC players could afford a Ferrari !

I bet they could.

Kisnorbo's on about 8k a week, surely enough for a Ferrari.

I was talking generally about investing in a football club, not specifically Leicester City.

In terms of Leicester City, yes we do have a group of young players, we also have a group of underperforming players. With regards self-inflated egos, I do not know the players nor have I met them so I cannot comment. Maybe not a ferrari, but certainly some lovely cars.

There are certainly two sides to it and the downside is by definition more likely than the upside. For instance the effect on family, especially children at school, when the team is losing and playing badly is something to be seriously considered.

I wonder also what proportion of their wealth each fan would be prepared to commit to investing in Leicester City if the opportunity arose.

I say that because I have been inolved in buiying and selling for a long time and many people who would happily go bungee jumping are nervous as hell about the prospect of losing even smallish sums of money.

And if you are a fan who wouldn't invest much of your personal wealth in the club then you can hardly criticise others who feel the same.

I don't think Danny Cadamarteri would make a good owner of this club.

There are a couple of clubs in Northampton he would probably be interested in though.

It surprises me that Danny C left a glittering career alongside Jarvis Cocker in Pulp for a career in football which culminated in not even getting in to our side!

Think you've backed the wrong man if you're expecting MM to pump his money in.

One has to be careful what one says on here nowadays so all one will coment on is that i have never commented or would try to remember what LCFC was like under MG's wonderful leadership! I would also like to add that this milan manderic fellow is a no good bandit who will ruin the club

The bruises to my face and gun to my head have noting to do with this statement, i have made it in sound mind and without encouragement lol Stop hitting me it hurts! don't point that at me BANG :o ................ Thud

Kilworth fox died in a boating accident on his own with no shots to the temple, but left a will leaving everything to the lets tell it as it is, Martin George was the best chairman scince sliced bread foundation

My experience of extremely wealthy people is that they really don't need that sort of ego boost.

Many are extremely quiet, polite, understated people who do enormous amounts for charity, for any number of worthy causes and thoroughly enjoy being able to help people.

When Martin George watches football - the youth team as well as the first team, I'm told - I am quite sure it is because he thoroughly enjoys it and finds it relaxing.

I'd be extremely surprised if his motive was to demonstrate his wealth and one-upmanship.

Martin George and people like him mightnot be perfect. But he and people like him have kept people in jobs across considerable swathes of land and for enormous periods of time. The least they deserve is some respect. Especially as they are unlikely to dignify your comments with a reply.

I wonder what sort of person you would be if you were paid or inherited millions.

A socialist benefactor who would scorn the money and donate it all to Greenpeace no doubt. Like Blair and Two Jags and all their cronies.

And why the down on golf? It is a bloodygood game and a pretty natural game for ageing sporstmen to play when there's damn all else their bodies will co-operate with.

And when I play - which is often - I play with, let me see, falconcers, restauranteurs, jobless benefit claimants, millionaires, my kids, retired car workers, groundstaff, what have you.

It doesn't matter. You're the man when you slot a birdie and the idiot when you hook out of bounds - whoever you are.

And as for your hero Mandaric. He makes an art form of spending as little as possible so he can squeeze as much out at the other end. That isn't a class thing. It's what loads of people do every day. It's just that some have more nerve, front, imagination, self-belief than others and good luck to em cos when they blow it there's often precious little sympathy and a whole stack of abuse.

But mostly people like MM start with little ventures before they bought football clubs. It's the survivors buy into the big deals. The toughest, hardest street fighters of the lot and most, far from lacking "bottle" are simply not noted for either overpaying or making stupid decisions.

What is with you and wealth and success? Are you going to label someone a status seeking, stuck up, shoulder-rubbing, privileged show off just because, say, they spend years training to become a surgeon or a a lawyer or a busienssman and then get the rate for a job - which is a lot?

How would you justfiy that if they were just a fan like yourself. Or do you think all fans are moronic nonentities with no ambition and who are going nowhere?.

Anyone with delusions of how great MG was in his time at LCFC are just plain MAD! He never invested in the club, the fanzine Where has all the money gone was around in his reign and that was no coincidence. Most on here wont remember him as chairman but all i remember was that was his reign was a long line of shysters who were status grabing non investing turds to infest our club for so long now!

Martin George will be no differant if his past is to go by!

Fook off Where is Milan

I'm with you Kilworth...seems some people see the past through rose tinted glasses...where's the money gone et al!

Well with that character assasination you must know him very well. Is he a relative, a mate perhaps, a work colleague, or maybe you've sat next to him at the football for the last 20 years?
