mbd123 Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 I never said or implied it did, LISTEN am sure you would very much enjoy a MG "SPEECH" after he had told you absolutely NOTHING..... in great detail, A couple of points, MG as been a very influential person behind the seens for some years now, even after he was no longer chairman, and unpopular with the fans. lt will never come to light l don't think but he as a strong presence at the club, you only get that presence from money in certain places, l wouldn't be suprised if he was involved with whats going on with MM, or what may go on if it falls flat. I do believe that MG is a genuine City fan aswell, as far as l know he lives in Northamptonshire (Blatherwycke near Corby) and is involved with NCCC. which does not mean that he can't be a City fan as he doesn't live in the county. If its just mischief from Barton or genuine it is definatley something which is within reason.

LOOK just for get him, the fans hated him, he knows, and remembers that.

But not as much as Elsom, Shipman or the current mob according to the poll on here, everyone must have a very bad memory according to you.
filbertway Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Ive come to the conclusion BF likes to think he knows more than he does. And on top of that he is just craigadams using a different user name.
Daggers Posted 3 February 2007 Posted 3 February 2007 Ive come to the conclusion BF likes to think he knows more than he does. He likes to think that other people think that he thinks he knows more than he thinks he does... Err...

LOOK just for get him, the fans hated him, he knows, and remembers that. Don't be too sure that he asn't, perhaps Barton knows the conection between MG and Jon Elsom, when Jonnyboy was Chairman, that situation wasn't common knowledge outside the club, not the full extent anyway. Sorry to be vague on these points. but wouldn't and maybe couldn't prove certain things, but would be interested in what Barton as to say regarding this.
ibbosuk Posted 4 February 2007 Posted 4 February 2007 But not as much as Elsom, Shipman or the current mob according to the poll on here, everyone must have a very bad memory according to you. WOW a poll of about 50/80 people on here ? How many of them can even remember what MG was REALLY like? I am talking about vast majority of City supporters who hated him then, so I don't see their opinion changing now. He will NEVER figure in the future of LCFC, he is NOT INTERESTED in putting his money into the club. He never was End of story.

Webbo Posted 5 February 2007 Posted 5 February 2007 Not quite true there at the end of your post according to barber this rumour started when someone saw MG walking round the ground shaking hands on a match day. was it you BF? is this true?
renards Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 WOW a poll of about 50/80 people on here ? How many of them can even remember what MG was REALLY like? He will NEVER figure in the future of LCFC, he is NOT INTERESTED in putting his money into the club. He never was End of story. Hate seems a little strong, what do you base that on? your obviously privvy to information that others are not. Are you the voice of the 'vast majority' do you spend all game seeking the opinions of supporters ? (more than 50/80) if so you have missed me. Martin George has always made it clear that he would not pump his familiesmoney into the club, neither would I.Kinch gambled buying shares in his bid to take over the club...he's gone skint. As chairman MG took the club to another level, was involved in the seting up of the acadamy and was there daily. Hewas the last chairman to mix with the suporters pre match
renards Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 Condescending remarks will get you everywhere. You must be such a better supporter than those with similar views to me. MG would have been better if he hired better more scucessful Managers on a regular basis i.e not Pleat (not that he wanted Pleat to fail its just on judgement) and dipped into is admittedly short pockets in comparison to MM. MM has a good record, but i could not give a monkeys whatsits about that i'm a LCFC supporter and want to see that scuccess here money or no money I don't care "Pleat out..Shipman out" ???????????
renards Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 !st of all i'd like to say i cannot believe i have been moderated again! I don't play golf not thats important but i do not wish to be associated with that sport I'm not against sucessful people just those who i see as in a very privalaged position as having a say at our club but don't seem to make the obvious decision very quickly and no that is not after 3 months. Also i have an issue with those who are holding MG as a standard as to which all future LCFC chairmen should aspire to. The best things i can say about MG was that he never over spent quite the oposite but still we never went out of business, he hired Brian Little who did wonders in his time, but also you could say he also hired Pleat so all in all he was not too good realy in my book. retort Need to get your facts right, your argument seems a bit pathetic when your information is incorrect. 'David Pleat paid the price for a dramatic fall from grace in the league and a downward spiral in form as he was replaced by Gordon Lee in January 1991. Terry Shipman also departed as chairman, replaced by Martin George, at the same time of Pleat's departure and City just about survived.,'
Kilworthfox Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 But not as much as Elsom, Shipman or the current mob according to the poll on here, everyone must have a very bad memory according to you. The poll is not a popularity contest it is a question of leadership ability when in the powerful postions at the club. Best of a bad bunch maybe but i would not go shouting about the fact
Webbo Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 just a theory but what if MG lets Milan beat the price down from the board and then at the last minute gazumps him for say 1p a share more? if he was part of a consortium with the three board members that resigned he wouldn't have so many shares to buy because they'd already own some of them. it also might explain why the directors resigned, to avoid a conflict of interest.
Chrysalis Posted 6 February 2007 Posted 6 February 2007 Too promising - I can't think of many better outcomes. something we agree on MG is probably the only option I prefer to MM he presided over a good period of our history. All I know is this, he has a talent for picking managers, experience in running the club. I can understand why he wouldnt have put money in the past as he didnt own a controlling interest, and it isnt all about money.
Daggers Posted 13 February 2007 Posted 13 February 2007 close the thread I've been wanting to do that since it started seeing as NO information has come to light about George.
Daggers Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Wonderland. I'm guessing, now that BF has gone into hiding, we'll never find out what this was all about?
Nationwider Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 I'm guessing, now that BF has gone into hiding, we'll never find out what this was all about? Perhaps he just tried them with warm milk for the first time and got a bit carried away by the breakfast taste sensation?
Dames Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 I'm guessing, now that BF has gone into hiding, we'll never find out what this was all about? Something will tempt him out.
Webbo Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Something will tempt him out. If Jimmy Calderwood (Aberdean) gets the job he'll be on here claiming that MM decided to sack MA all of a sudden, out of the blue when he heard a Scotsman might be available.
Thracian Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Barton knows his stuff, especially when MG is concerned. Is that a light I see at last?
teblin Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 I can't believe i just read all of this. For christ sake, how bloody fickle are football fans. We are in a much better position, than we were last season. We have A Lot better side, and the abilty with manderic (whther its his money or loans) to bring in other players. Lets back the guy we have in charge now. I will be very suprised if Milan fail to get us in the prem. And relegation would be a blessing, i have never heard so much crap. PROMOTION WOULD BE A BLESSING!!!!
