Sods Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 2-1 to ireland now ireland scores for ireland in the 94th bloddy minute. Those 124 san marinians are going to slit their wrists tonight
Brainy Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Quick question: How many times has the referee awarded a free kick to England due to Peter Crouch? Maybe I should ask that, When will he award a free kick for him? Its pathetic, especially the last one.
JoeyB Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 i feel sorry for crouch just because he's about 7 ft he gets peanalised every time he goes up for a header
JoeyB Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 *Waits for excuses from McLaren* it wasnt our night tonight we played some good football and created some chances but didnt put them away Were going to re-double our effots on the training pitch EDIT: oh and it wasnt a full strengh engaknd team We were missing terry, rooney and owen
Simi Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Embarrasing. Very true. That was shocking. McLaren just took alot of sh!t walking past the fans. Why is Gary making excuses ? We have a quality squad but they just cannot play together.
Maybes Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Pure and simple england are the biggest underachievers ever. Pure crock of s!te
JoeyB Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Pure and simple england and leicester are the biggest underachievers ever. Pure crock of s!te sorted
Joe. Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Well that was just plain pathetic. McClaren hasn't got a clue. Yes, lets play Lampard on the left when he's never going to play there again ever. Good decision Steve <_< Carrick was absolutely awful tonight. He was our worst player by far. To be honest though, generally the midfield were poor. Crouch and Dyer received very little service. Speaking of Crouch, extremely unlucky with referee decisions. Countless times he was penalised for nothing. When Ramos jumps all over his back in the penalty area, nothing given. Poor. Overall, a shocking performance that carries on the spell of the McClaren era. <_<
Brainy Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Reporter: How well did we play tonight? McLaren: We don't like losing football matches Reporter: What do you say to the fans after the performance? McLaren: We don't like losing football matches Yes, now lets answer the questions, Stevie.
Lord Nibblington Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Well. That was a shock now, wasn't it?
Wycombe Fox Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Well that was just plain pathetic. McClaren hasn't got a clue. Overall, a shocking performance that carries on the spell of the McClaren era. <_< Agree with all of your comments especially about Carrick. I've never got this continued selection of Downing and I certainly don't get what Carrick offers either England or Manure. It's like Balding Gingertop has thought 'mmm Sir Alex paid £18 mill for him so he must be good - I'll pick him for England.' Stevie Redhead baby, he's sh*t - get over it! As regards Crouch, it's getting to the stage where he's becoming unselectable because foreign refs just don't like his style of play. Nothing to do with Crouch - he puts himself about - but if every time we attack using a ball in the air to him, we get penalised then we're never going to get anywhere (sorry, almost forgot, we're not getting anywhere anyway!!) It's all going the way probably 99% of England fans expected it to when Balding Gingertop was appointed manager. Sven clone! Different day, same old sh*t! Forget the injuries and withdrawals from the squad, we're seriously going nowhere under Steve McClaren.
davieG Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 And the really bad thing is those players earn £40K+ a WEEK from their clubs an absolute crock of shite.
Brainy Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 I don't really see why confidence should be a problem, considering they play every week? If it's because it's England, it's nerves.
Tommeh Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 4 things to say: 1) 1 man team that one man was out along with the captain but we had good cover for the latter 2) left hand side - P Neville, Downing and Barry nuff said 3) Richards was best player imo and he had half an hour 4) WWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY WAS GERRARD BROUGHT OFF!!!??????!!!!! Oh well at Least the city are doing well
Lord Nibblington Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 I find the whole we're missing key players arguement a load of shit. Rooney, Owen, Terry, and maybe Lennon. If we can't create a team without those people in it who can't fashion one chance in 90 minutes, we're truely shit. Oh wait. We are.
foxchop Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 The worst part about tonight is the lack of pride in wearing the England shirt. It would have been great if the team that played had put in a decent performance just so that these players who pull out of the squad just because it's a friendly and it doesn't count for anything then when it comes to a qualifier decide they can play and waltz straight back into the starting 11. I know their were a lot of players that understandably pulled out Hargreaves, Terry etc. after just coming back from injury. Alex Ferguson and Ryan Giggs (64 caps in 16 years) have a lot to answer for. During the world cup when we got to the semi-finals and lost on pens Stuart Pearce was left out of the third place playoff to get him out of the spotlight, in his autobiography he was gutted as it was a cap he missed out on, it seems those type of players don't exist anymore. After that who really had a good game and looked good enough to wear the shirt I'd say Gerrard, Ferdinand and Richards looked the part when he came on. Lampard should be dropped how many more chances is he gonna get, Carrick gave the ball away at every opportunity and on the break didn't have a clue what to do with it. Dyer tried hard but looked out of depth, SWP needs to play for a club before he plays for his country Richards would do a good job in that role. Crouch did get treated unfairly sometimes but in the first half all he did has hug the defenders, he's not the answer tonight would have been a good time to try some new blood.
Tommeh Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 One player could answer all our problems: !PAUL SCHOLES! Carrick was terrible tonight but is still a very good player and tbh the way he and United are playing atm I don;t think he'll be too fussed about England
l444ry Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 It would be nice now in hindsight to hear from all the armchair managers who hounded Eriksson out.As if it was that simple.......
lildave3 Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 One player could answer all our problems: !PAUL SCHOLES! Carrick was terrible tonight but is still a very good player and tbh the way he and United are playing atm I don;t think he'll be too fussed about England To be honest, neither am i. I only care about the tournaments now, everything else is just boring.
C-man Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Every time England play, I seem to have an absolutely outrageous rant. Tonight is no different. Firstly, I believed we had lost the game tonight before a ball had even been kicked. The starting line up was absymal. Yes, we are lacking Rooney, Terry and Ashley Cole amongst others, but there is no excuse for picking Phil Neville at left back, or selecting that formation. On the subject of Phil Neville, he has over 50 caps. It is disgraceful that a player so lacking in quality can accumulate such a vast amount of England caps without someone realising that he has the skill level of a blind badger trying to write a Christmas card to the Pope. I praised the selection of Gareth Barry, a natural left-sided player who deserves a chance. How P. Neville meritted a start more than the Villa captain, I shall never, ever know. Moving on, I also liked the inclusion of Ben Foster, and as he didn't really have much to do other than one save and picking the ball out of his net, I think he deserves another chance, however I fear that he may be made one of a few scapegoats for a dreadful performance. I had no problems with Woodgate playing as I think he's the 3rd best Centre-half we have in England after Terry and Ferdinand. Micah Richards should have started, and I think Gary Neville's time is almost up ( ). Shaun Wright-Phillips continues to frustrate and disappoint as does Jermaine Defoe when he comes on. The formation should always be 4-4-2 and Lampard HAS to be dropped. He was woeful tonight again, as was Carrick. I felt sorry for Kieran Dyer and Crouch, they didn't get much service, although when they did, they didn't particularly do much. In the next game, I'd like to see the team of: Foster Richards - Terry - Ferdinand - A ColeLennon - Hargreaves - Gerrard - BarryRooney - CrouchRant over.
Libertine Posted 7 February 2007 Posted 7 February 2007 Glad I didn't watch it. Let that be a lesson to all of ya.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 February 2007 Author Posted 7 February 2007 Omg forget England. I never watch them anymore, excruciatingly boring. Glad I didn't watch it. Let that be a lesson to all of ya. Yes, because watching Leicester is a laugh a minute
