Historically, not traditionally, the game was followed by working class white males. Whether you like it or not the demographics have changed and you have to accept it.

Personally, I think locating you all in the Family Stand (and you were in the Family Stand) was ****ed in the head. To expect everyone to sit and politely clap while singing merry inoffensive ditties is the height of naivety...which I am guessing was your actual point Kilworth.

Acoustically it is pretty awful in the Walkers and picking out individual words of songs is hard when you're right next to the singer let alone some distance away.

So the whole point about swearing is over stated and a result perhaps of a few reactionaries wanting to make something out of nothing.

Not only that but it is oversensitised too. Kids hear swear words at school and on television every day of their lives. If parents don't want their kids to grow up swearing then they simply explain the point as a normal lesson of life.

If there were individual problems on Saturday it doesn't hurt anyone just to open their mouth and ask for a bit of moderation. You don't need to go mouthing off to stewards at the first opportunity just because your sensitivities have been offended.

Lots of us don't much like the pompous, self-righteous, teacher-types who's idea of a celebration is to blink or tap their hands together like the Queen at a Garden Party thanking the musical entertainment. But we put up with em.

Life is all about varying experiences. Late buses, traffic queues, selfish drivers, speed cameras. If a parent is seriously concerned for his kid's welfare, keep him at home til he's mature enough to cope.

Mine have always been expected to learn that life is made up of good, bad and indifferent...and to deal with whichever they come across. If a kids hardest task in life is to rationalise a bit of swearing or loutishness then he'll have an easy time of it.

The club might remember that there are always people who will try to stop anything and won't baulk at a bit of exagerration if it helps, either.

PS: And as far as the club are concerned that part of the ground is NOT part of the Family Stand and was the best option all things considered. I saw nothing Saturday to suggest they were wrong.

whats happening if the club dont allowe us to sit/stand in the N block then? just go back to our crappy normal atmosphere, the club have got to see that us in the N block is a good move, drown out away fans, and have all singers grouped in one, cant ask for me! as for swearing, i thought swearing was to a minimal content yesterday, and all those in the family stand near us, wouldnt of heared the odd shout, maybe they heared them in our chants, but they hear them everyweek from the away fans right?

at filbo, i was young and heared swearing everyweek, this was in the carling stand! didn't bother me! because we all know that kids swear at school! we all did! so no matter where u sit you hear swearing! it is all part of football, u hear swearing everytime u watch football on sky every sunday! do families complain about that? no, they just always seem to isolate their own fans :dunno:

maybe they dont want an atmosphere, so their children hate the stadium, and go on to support other teams like man u chelski and arsenal...killing football they are!

lets wait and see we can become expressive if they say we cannot! we will find a way

I think you have to accept that maybe, just maybe, this whole approach by the club was engineered so that it could justifiably fail for reasons that would not be attributed directly to them.

The police will say 'it's too dangerous to have them close the the oppo supporters'

The H&SE will say 'they stand up too much'

The families will say 'they swear too ****ing much'

The club will say 'sorry lads - we gave it a go...maybe we can look at it again some time in the future..'

Nothing that happened Saturday would suggest that at all. There were no signs of potential inter-fan conflict. And I'm not sure the police had any cause to speak to any fan in our section about anything, apart from the drum.

No-one seemed the the least put out by the standing and could easily have moved if they were.

There was very little audible swearing.

And to pretend otherwise would be ridiculous.

Tomorrow should give me a clear indication of the clubs plans for us, both for the immediate future and for next season. I'll post news of what they say on here as soon as can. We will then make a decision for what we should do based on what they say. It'll be fine. Keep The Faith.:P

You could get more people moving to L1 or get a block together in the Kop. :dunno:

I thought the atmosphere in N block was awesome. We were on row BB, did not sit down for one second, nor did we ever stop singing! One of my mates is a liverpool fan, and he didnt stop singing either.just proves its infectious. One of my mates in the Kop said they couldn't hear us, and another one sitting in the West Stand thought we made a big difference. Its not so bad that the kop couldn't hear, coz the cov certainly could. Thats what matters most. Well done boys!!

I'll be amazed if the club stop this idea, but whats the point in being given a drum, just to have it taken away??

I think the club just did not want anyone hurt from ther coin throwing. Which is fair really. It was been targetted by Cov constantly which is a shame because it did help.

The drum was becoming a target for Coventry fans to aim coins at, and, on the specific advice of the police, Peter Jones had to come and remove the drum. It was a safety issue, because I can assure you if the Coventry fans had become more agitated and somebody had been hit in the eye by a coin, or even suffered a wound to the head, N Block would not happen again.

Who is Peter Jones? I missed exactly what his job is.

Peter Jones - Supporter Relations Manager at LCFC. Deals with all the supporters have an idea, have a request, a complaint or any general queries related to the club and matchday experiences etc. I'm sure he does other things as well, but that is a very basic and brief outline. Oh, and he also used to be a top-class referee, doing the FA Cup final when Newcastle played Man Utd.

i think its fair enough that the drum was taken away then. It was good to have, but i don't think there would've been any less singing etc had we not used a drum- As proved in the second half. I would like to say regarding, there wasn't really any bad language used except for in the chanting, but had we been 3-0 DOWN things might have been different. im not trying to put a negative effect on things, as i have the foulest mouth when i get carried away!

well i am going to email him and say i had a great day at the walkers mostly because of the singing section
