Aeropars Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 You won't see an instant success from one scheme. I don't think it was great, but it was a start. Someone mentioned that the rest of the family stand started to sing at some points, get more people into more areas and it WILL improve. Singing in new sections could provide a reaction for everyone else to follow suit Perhaps it was the way I interpreted the promotion of it, i dont know. I dont think i would be the only one though. I'm happy to try anything thats worthwhile to the club. I just think people should start being a little more accepting and diplomatic to new members, comments an ideas.
Bluefoxtim Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 yeah... if your pathetic enough to start going on about people's typo's then don't be pathetic about mentioning going back to school.
Aeropars Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Point us to a post we made with a POLITE reply to our opinion. How long have you got??? I made one... in the hope that blunt nastyness was the way to get with the 'in' crowd on here. I'm no strangers to forums, or running them... please dont think i'm not down with the kids!
Flynny Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Ok... so point me to a post i made with a POLITE reply to my opinion? Hard pressed i think! Because you're in a thread full of people who sung their hearts out all day, were recognised for doing so by the players, the manager, the new chairman, and the media, and you've just shat all over the lot of it. Your initial post was about as polite as a punch to the face. You couldn't have put people's backs up more if you waltzed into a leukemia ward offering free haircuts. Do you not get it?

You made a post, and most of us disagreed with it. That's life.
Aeropars Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 then don't be pathetic about mentioning going back to school. Get over it man.. i'm bored

Now can you leave this thread alone and stop arguing like a five year old please!
Aeropars Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 ... i dont even need to retaliate... i rest my case!
lcfc_jme Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 If i'm honest, i think they are knocking it. I'm new here and dont feel welcome at all. I presist because i'm stubborn yet have every right to talk about city like the regulars do on here. I'm all for anything that enhances the total atmosphere in the stadium, i just thought i'd say i dont think this idea did it. Get more in there then I think its possible. How, I dont know... but people are hung up on filbert street and hwo good that was but it was because we had 3000 odd fans in there all doing the same chanting ect. I see something of that magnitude is needed to elivate the atmosphere It's difficult for new people to settle right in and feel welcome, especially if they're stubborn. It'll take time but you'll get used to it. Just thank God you're not Ultra. Total atmosphere in the stadium you say? Hows about every idea has to start somewhere and has to be trialled in the public domain in order to gain support and keep on growing. Has it ever occurred to you that we are probably in the early stages of getting the much wanted change between the Kop and the Family Stand? I don't believe it has. If our idea gathers enough support and keeps growing, it could well happen. Well done to N Block today is what I orginally ment to post before I got annoyed. Thankyou very much Manwell. Your kind words are much appreciated. As are your unkind words when not directed at me.
Scow Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Bloody hell, this is getting a bit silly, isn't it? We're all Leicester fans (Well, I hope so anyway) so what's the point in all this animosity? I sat in my usual seat (F1) and my observation of N block was of the following; Similar to L1 - Some standing up and gestures, little noise. Now that is not saying N block didn't make noise. And it's not a criticism either. We should encourage the idea that we now potentially have 3 areas of the ground where an atmosphere can be generated.

I understand. I was just saying that as an outsider coming in at the mid way point of this proposition, i go tthe impressino that it was a case of a one stop solution fo the atmosphere problem. I was obviously incorrect and apologise for that. I'm happy to help in all the ways i can. My point was that from the official website publication ect, it was somethign that could sort it out immediatly. I dont wish to get into a slanging match with people on here but its not the first time i've seen agressiveness to new members. After all, were all city fans.
Thracian Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 OK ok ok.... So lets take a different stance.... If the club say this singing bit was not a sucess, woudl you be kicking and screaming to them? I still beleive that the fans will sing when there is somethign to be happy about. I dont see tramps being happy at christmas when they have nothing to be genuinly happy about. That's usually the case, unfortunately and perhaps increasingly.. But on this occasion the songs were sung from before kick-off until the end of the game with a break at half time. No respite. No-one lamenting someone's iffy cross or the lack of second half goals. Just unrestrained support minute after minute, song after song. As far as I'm aware the intent was to do exactly the same if we were losing. Rehearsals for that can wait as long as they like for me!

It was never going to change it straight away. Especially not with a week and a half of marketing behind it. We had posted on here many a time that it was never going to be an instant solution, and had stated that it'll take time to organise things completely 100% properly. Now that it is up and running, people are aware of it and have seen (hopefully heard) it in action, they will join it next time it's on. And I can almost guarantee they'll enjoy themselves if they want atmosphere. This will hopefully be enough to bring them back the time it's on after that. If this keeps happening, we will continue to grow and then have more singers concentrated into the area - making bigger amounts of noise like you said. As for the slanging match thing, if your opinions differ from the majority, it's inevitable you will be shot down, and if you're stubborn (as you so evidently are), you will continue being shot down. Just take it on the chin and get on with it. It'll suit you better in the long run. Trust me.

It was never a case of people saying 'see where your coming from BUT....' it wwas always the case off 'ooooh your talking shit.. your worthless' ect. That pissed me off and with that I became more agressive in my tone and demeniour. I'd like to be able to get on with people on here... after all, were all here for the same reason

Honestly. It may be a message board to express opinions, but 98% of the stuff posted on here is non-serious. Just relax a bit more, use more in your posts and don't get so defensive. You're NOT the most hated person on the board. That would be Ultra. If you think people have treated you badly, you haven't seen anything. And sheephead, stop PM'ing me. I'm not interested. Honest. Sorry.
