Milky Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 im guessing that todorov and hughes will sign in the next week. for some strange reason i think we will sign an unknown player from abroad! I thought that in this current loan period clubs are restricted to signing players from england only
Dames Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Read in the News of the World that were trying to nab him on loan. If there is any truth in this would you welcome him back ? Or for that matter do you even want him back ?
lookwhaticando Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Rumours Thread - it's there for a reason.
Matt Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Don't want Dickov to join us again. I'll have to kind of eat my words! I would celebrate his goals obviously, but don't know if I could ever forgive him - last year plenty of people read my posts about why I hate him and a few people agreed with me, i'm not going over old ground on why I dislike him, lets just leave it at that!

I'd rather we get Smith in really even if he plays in the middle.

Yes I agree, I don't want Dickov back !! We need to look forwards, not back !! Remember Steve Guppy's return anyone??? - or have I just dreamt Guppy came back - must have been that bad ???

Lineker's Left Foot Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 TBH i'd rather have Smith aswell. Smith would be amazing, but a tad audacious at the mo !! We were talking in the pub about Smith, but I think he could potentially go back to Leeds to try and save them - but what would their fans think???

How amazing would it be for Smith to come to Leicester and when Leeds come to play us, If Leeds need to win, Smith scores the winning goal that sends them down! That would be funny as fook!
wazza fox Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 Leicester are doing better than Luton... what's the point of hiring Newell to replace Kelly? Absolute tripe. he had the chance and didn't take it, why should he come now.
Mort Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 he had the chance and didn't take it, why should he come now. We have money and Luton are going down... though I'm not sure Newell could have done much to help Luton this season as he seems to have been screwed by the board, the rumour that they are to merge with MK-Dons doesnt surprise me in the least... I think there is somthing very unhelpful going on behind the scenes as Luton. But the real question is... "why should we want him"? RK should and will go in the summer IMHO, but we can do better than Newell and I would have thought that is what MM is thinking as well... at least i hope so, wait for the summer before going through the musical chairs get going, doesnt help doing it in the middle of the season... provide full backing for RK till then and in the summer we can reorganise and reassess, somthing which IMHO is sure to lead to a new manager and an entirley new coaching staff.

I WANT RUUD GULLIT - just for his contacts and I think he will be good !! Will he be better than anybody else?? Or what about Srecko Katanec - wasn't he international boss for Serbia???? Ok, ok then cart me off to the Towers

"who's out there?" ...Rk isnt up to it, we all know that (3-0 wins over Cov excepted), but what realistic options do we reckon we'll have in the summer (when a lot could change for City IMHO)? Scholes fancy a cushy job after retirement? ?
JoeyB Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 some beauty's on http://www.football-rumours.co.uk/ After Milan Mandaric's successful purchase of Leicester City, he is aiming to amalgamate with the Leicester Tigers Rugby Club in an attempt to make it one large company - with the sole aim of further enhancing both. According to locals in Hinckley, MM has looked at making local non-league club Hinckley United a feeder club to City - with the aim of getting United established as a professional club in League Two - with Leicester loaning players to gain experience etc. Also expect Svetoslav Todorov, Richard Hughes and Andy O'Brien all to move from Pompey this week on loan deals, with City midfielder Stephen Hughes being fancied by Forest. i also saw this and it made me laugh: Celtic will be signing Lucas Podolski in the summer for £10 million. I heard this from a very reliable source the same source who told me that Vennegoor of Hesselink and Lee Naylor were signing 6 weeks before they did.
Mikey Posted 18 February 2007 Posted 18 February 2007 I thought that in this current loan period clubs are restricted to signing players from england only yup thats right!
Mort Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 According to locals in Hinckley, MM has looked at making local non-league club Hinckley United a feeder club to City - with the aim of getting United established as a professional club in League Two - with Leicester loaning players to gain experience etc. Have always thought that if Hinckley could be brought up into the Leagues they would provide an excellent base for "feeder club"... it'd take years though, shame and as its on the FR site it's bound to be cack. But HUFC as a feeder club could also allow LCFC to establish a more modern training complex out there as well and within the context a broad and expanded role for the club within the community (not just in the city but in the county as a whole, as well as Northants, Rutland etc...) it could work very well. To be honest I was very glad to hear MM talk about getting the club reengaged with the community again... since administration was when i was doing my A-levels I dont know so... did that lead to the old system of LCFC doing lots of work with schools in the city and the county ending, or is it still ongoing, I assume it'd have either been axed or vastly cutback... anyone know?
Geo V Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Dickov was great when he was here but we dont need him now. That would be a huge step in the wrong direction for me. As for managers, all these young great managers are being linked to us but Newells mob are 19th, Ian Holloway and Plymouth are only 2 points and two places better off than us and Burnley and Steve Cotterill are below us in the league. I wouldnt go for any of them to be honest, especially horseface Newell who has turned us down twice.

Wait til the summer if manager-change is absolutely necessary. Better selection. Steve Clarke (Chelsea Ass. Boss) is out of contract at the end of the season, I think.
Unit Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 Captain Dejan Stefanovic is demanding talks with Portsmouth about his future, with Leicester showing an interest. (Daily Mail)
Milan Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 No source, pure speculation. New training ground?
bold_fox Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 No source, pure speculation. New training ground? I don't think we need to worry about that yet.... Let get ourself sorted this season, solidify our Chamionship status, then look to the future. I think it would be a good idea, but question whether its the type of investment MM will be looking to make initially.
Jon the Hat Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 No source, pure speculation. New training ground? As in, sell the old one and train somewhere else? Probably.
leeleic Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 I know i'm puttin my neck on the line here, but.............. i would actually like to see kelly given more of a chance. If we were to make an exceptional push up the table come the end of the season, why not keep him on? He's never had anything to play with before now and this is a great oppertunity for him. He's obviously not up to much on the tactical front, but with the little resources he's had, he's bought in 3 decent players IMO. Yeates has proven he's still got alot to learn but posseses enough quality to beat most full backs on his day, he will only get better. The horse has been immense since his arrival, ok, the town game, a bit dire but who wasn't? His touch has been quality and his hold up play opens up so much for us in the final 3rd, somethin we haven't had! and jarrett, the lad is a box to box player and solid in a challenge, a bit of bite in the middle, rough em up a bit. If kelly is given the resources, he will be able to bring in players of similar, and in most cases, better quality. I dunno, i would just like to see him given more of an oppertunity over the summer, he's been through exactly the same as us, the wondering, the fustration. If he rewards the us with a respectable league position this year, i can't see why we don't reward him with the oppertunity to lead us into next season. bugger..............this is a rumours thread, erm ok....... "Leicester are rumoured to be in the chase for highly rated spanish star david villa." quote from horse and hound
Milan Posted 19 February 2007 Posted 19 February 2007 As in, sell the old one and train somewhere else? Probably. Probably actually make a profit, I imagine land in the city is worth quite a bit.
